Editorial review from Citysearch 12/15/2013

Worst EVER!!!! I went there for blood work because of a contagious bacteria i was concerned i may have contracted from a family member. I should have known better when i read the signs posted all over the office with misspellings and improper grammar but someone had recommended the facility so i tried it anyway. After paying 175.00 (more than what a private doctor would have charged a self pay patient) i expected to at least receive a phone call letting me know my results were in. Nope. So i call 2 months later, a little peeved, and when i asked he receptionist Melissa about my results she indicated that I had to come in and get them and that they don't give results over the phone (they charge you again just to come in and get your results). So i asked her ""well did you guys even bother to call me and tell me my results were in?"" to which she responded ""Excuse me?"" with a ghetto attitude no less! She then placed me on hold which i later found out when i called back and the phone rang and rang about 12 times before someone answered the phone for me. This time it was Allandra who indicated she was not the original person who answered the phone but trust me Allandra's attitude came out just as much. I told them i have every right to be upset about not hearing anything for 2 months from anyone. Melissa then grabbed the phone from Allandra and said she put me on hold. I told her that's UNPROFESSIONAL to just place someone on hold especially when it's a customer/patient who is upset with your service as it is and when i asked for her name she came right back at me with an attitude and asked ""What is your name"" to which i responded it's pointless to even give it because it's obvious neither of you are willing to help. This is what happens when you pay unintelligent people minimum wage to handle your healthcare needs. DON'T GO!!!!!!!!! I'd rather go and spend my money elsewhere and get new blood work then go there and deal with that crap. more

Too bad ""no stars"" isn't an option. 2/28/2012

I came this clinic for my sinus infection (that I had treated by this same Dr. in November..never got an accurate diagnosis). He took about 5 minutes to spend with me, if that. A tech gave me my prescriptions. I wanted to know what was in the cough syrup as I have no insurance (why spend 30 bucks if it's the same/comparable to OTC cough syrup?). He gave me a sample of Nasonex and then asked for it back! I told him that was highly unethical. He said that HIS taxes were paying for my welfare (I got my MA degree in 2004). He crossed out the cough syrup as he had no clue what was in it, nor what it's for. He said (after I went to the bathroom, asking the medial assistants for a ""napkin"" as in a feminine napkin. He micromanaged: ""No we don't give out napkins."" (!) He repeatedly said that I said he spent ""6 seconds with him."" THIS IS IN FRONT OF HIS STAFF AND PATIENTS. I told him he is the worst doctor I have ever seen or know. Don't go here. It's dirty and he must've not studied medicine since school. My advice? Never go there. No bedside manner, rude, he is the ""expert."" I can't say enough about the horrible experiences I've had there. The assistants said ""Don't take it personally""----how you treat anyone is how you treat everyone. more

Highly Recommend!!!! 3/3/2011

I have to say, EDMC is a great place. The wait time is decent fora walk in, but if you make an appointment they usually get you in within 2 to 3 days. And the wait time is maybe 10-15 minutes. The main dr there is fast and it kind of makes you feel like he doesnt really pay much attention to your questions, but all the other staff is great. You only see him once in a great while. They have rotating APRNs that are there most of the time. The staff there is probably the main reason my family and I have made them our primary care dr. They know us personally when we walk in. They treat out kids as if we are all close friends. If we ever need anything, they are pretty slow getting around to it, because they are a walk in clinic, and are always very busy. But if you explain the importance of it and just take the few seconds to explain to them nicely whats going on, they will do what they can to make sure your taken care of. I would and do, highly recommend them to anyone. more

Didn't like this place at all. 7/6/2009

The wait time is decent. The doctor however didn't listen to a thing I had to say. The main receptionist has a horrible attitude problem. I went there to transfer my records, to a closer place. I signed a paper and she said they would be mailed shortly. 3 weeks later they weren't sent to my new doctor. I called and explained that my new doctor wouldn't take me until he had my records and that it was very important because I have heart problems and needed to see someone. The receptionist responded with an attitude ""Well I have 30 days to mail them from the time you sign the paper, I will mail it next friday, I don't have time to drop everything just to help one person"". Next Friday would have been the 30th day from when i signed the paper. I called a week after that and they still havn't sent my records. She said they are always busy there. So I drove by a couple times a day, maybe a few patients there. She takes alot of cigarette breaks but can't mail my records? All the other nurses there are nice and helpful except for like I said the main receptionist who I guess is a nurse also because she drew bloo d from me one time. She was sick and coughing on her hands and not being very sanitary while drawing bloo d. Pros: decent wait time. Cons: Bad receptionist/nurse, doctor doesn't listen more

great community health care center. 11/20/2006

This clinic is well-run. The wait does not exceed the expected wait time for any walk-in clinic type health care facility. The staff is attentive and helpful. Physicians are respectful and they actually take the time to see you. Convenient location - right by the Westfarms Mall, in the middle of strip mall land. Definitely recommended. Pros: relatively short wait more
