I went to urgent care with signs of the flu- shivers, fevers, headaches, mild cough and some stomach pain. The nurses and doctor did their regular routines - checking temperatures, looking down my throat, listening to my heart all the common things you would assume would come with a check up. They did a flu test and it came back negative so the dr told me that I must have something viral and that I should go home and rest. I left feeling like the dr didn't do anything to really check on me as a patient, I felt like a customer. Well, the following day, I was admitted to the hospital with the same symptoms and found out I have a kidney infection. It was so bad I stayed for 3 DAYS! If only they would have just not assumed everyone had a flu or cold that walked through the doors of urgent care. All it would have taken was a urine test to find out I needed some additional attention.
