Evans' Auto Repair

Evans is Awesome. The shop doesn't look like much from the outside, but the people are great at what they do, and more importantly they are really honest. We have used them to do big jobs (like installing a whole new engine) all the way down to your routine break jobs. Their estimates are accurate (and always way lower than anyone else) and they usually get the car back to you the same day. (the engine install was done in 2 days). Often my wife has taken her car there to fix little things here and there, and when she asked how much she owed, they said "nothing, just bring it back when there is something really wrong with it" This is hands down absolutely the best auto shop I have ever ever ever dealt with! more

I have used Evan's about five times during the four years I've lived on OSU campus, and every single time they have gone above and beyond. The first time I went they charged me about $400 less than I was quoted at a chain mechanic. Every repair has been done same day or next day, as they specialize in one day repairs. For me, the best things about Evan's are that they don't try to sneak in extra repairs or charges, they don't overcharge for the ones they do, and they guarantee every repair. Also, they call before completing repairs and let you know how much they will cost (unless it is urgent and they know you shouldn't drive off the lot without the repair!) Highly recommended .... I called a bunch of places, and the price at Evans for changing my brakes was $40 cheaper than the next closest bid!!! (Some places out there are trying to charge over $200 for one set of brakes!!!!!). I asked him to look at the rear brakes and change them if they needed done, a little worried that a place might take that as a green light to make some more money. But when I got back, he said the rear brakes looked great, and that they didn't need changed. It was all done in one day, they were very nice, I feel like they did a good job, they seemed very honest, and the price was really, really, really great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because they did find a problem on my car, and fixed it without calling me. I was okay with it because I knew I had the problem, and I was actually happy to have it fixed. Also, he gave me what I thought was a very reasonable price on it, so I felt like it was very fair. But, you might want to ask that they please call you before doing anything beyond what you originally took your car in for. more

My family has been using Evan's Auto Repair since the 1970's. Dave Sr., the original owner was well known in the neighborhood for his service. Now his son, Dave Jr. runs the shop. Dave has great contacts with local parts dealers and gets amazing prices on parts. His charges very little for labor and his work is always exceptional. In concert with a knowledgeable mechanic staff, Evan's Auto Repair has some of the latest computerized diagnostic tools available. Evan's very often can get your vehicle back and working the same day. A great time and money saver without jeopardizing quality work! more
