European Deluxe Sausage Kitchen is a mom-and-pop deli offering Eastern European fare. A friendly German couple runs the specialty shop, which sells fresh, boiled, smoked, and dried meats and over a dozen varieties of handmade sausages. The Lamb Sausage had some kick and just the right amount of fat to keep it moist. The Hot Italian was nicely spiced and perfect atop our sausage and sweet pepper pizza. And, the Pork Knockwurst, a close relative of the bastardized hot dog, was meaty and juicy. And all at around $6 per pound, we could afford to eat like the Wilhelms and Ottos of the past.
If the sausage is the Kitchen?s main attraction, the Biltong (jerky), Droewor (dry sausage), and (farmer sausage) steal part of the show. The South African delicacies are prominently displayed on the back wall. European Deluxe Sausage Kitchen also offers a nice selection of imported pantry items, including powdered sauce mixes, sauerkraut, and marzipan blocks. So, for your next Oktoberfest-themed party or German-inspired meal pay the Kitchen a visit.
