I met Ethel and Seymour and as a hopeful tenant to one of the buildings they rent out. At first I was extremely happy to find such a nice older couple who were so convincing in all the promises they were making to upgrading and fixing they had planned for the apartment building I was renting for it was in my budget I felt I could trust them so my husband and I payed the deposit and moved our family of 4 in my husband 25 myself 21 my son 13 months and daughter 3 months the first night was a nightmare our car was robbed for a computer and palm pilot we filed a police report told them they swore it never happened on 4 days my son fell from holding on to a rusted unsteady railing people use to guide them for safety especially young children. Week two it was attack of the roaches and mosquitoes my son contracted MRSA from one of the many mosquito bites he received from this unsanitary place not to mention the bird poop on all residents cars week three...are you kidding me there was no week three the very next day my husband spoke with Ethel and told her we would be moving the 30th and needed are deposit of 400 dollars which we thought would be okay being that their were so many things going wrong we never signed a lease or any agreement we had the deposit receipt we were given her notice and she too agreed to return our money come day before move we call her she advises us we will not be getting our deposit she doesn't care about our issues and that we didn't sign a lease she lost out on money she could of rented to someone else I was floored this wonderful articulate fortunate kind woman turned into a beast after I cried for many hours not knowing what to do being out such a large sum of money we were counting on helping us move being as tight as it is we can't afford to come up with money other than what covers our bills being that my husbands a mover and I'm a full time nursing student and 400 dollars is a months worth of diapers for my children so I did my research on her on The Department of Business and Professional Regulation website complaints about the railing have been filed by inspectors since April that 3 warnings four months to fix my friends boyfriends father is a lawyer he said what she was doing was wrong which anyone with a brain or heart could see but it's obvious these old folks heart are cold ad they don't stand by their word or care for anything but the $. What makes me most sad is that their is such hate in this world and that people could take advantage of a family who is just wanting a nice safe place to raise their kids in.
