This restaurant has it's own inviting personality. The food is HOMEMADE AND AWESOME! Everyone we met (whether it was a patron, employee, or THE OWNER) was very nice, it's been a long time since, I've met so many nice people in one night, at one place. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! more

This is truly the best kept secret in Monroeville. The outside may look ""old"" and the dining area is in the era of Frank Sinatra (what's wrong with that?), but it is clean, the service is friendly and welcoming, and the food is EXCELLENT! We have never had a bad experience at this place. The bar is ""friendly"" and the drinks are made like a drink should be...with alcohol! The first time we went there to eat we entered through the bar area and were greeted by all age groups, welcoming us to the place. The dining room experience was just as friendly and the food was awesome; we have been regulars ever since. The owner/chef, Michael, comes out to make sure everything was as you expected and makes you feel like ""family."" There is no better steak in the area; their Filet Mignon is outstanding and always fixed to perfection. Do yourself a favor and try this treasure in the crowded restaurant field. more

My wife and I have been here twice in the past year and we look forward to our next visit. The food has always been supreme and excellent service. We have no complaints, just raves and appreciation. If you want a quiet enjoyable meal, this restaurant is for you. more

This place is disgusting, reminds me of something that should be on restaurant impossible. It is extremly dirty, poorly lit, terrible decor. Also, they serve pop directly from a can, i almost busted out laughing when the waiter poured it in front of me. This one guy walks around and is real chatty with you. I don't mind asking how our meal is but, my husband and I would like to talk when we go out not talk to staff. Wayyyy better restaurants! more

This is a down home Italian restaurant. Anytime I visit Pittsburgh from Florida I must go there and remember my roots and eat great food and drink fine wine. The Esta has been around since I can remember and serving the best of the best. Love you guys and put Dean on the juke box for my next visit, Love ya Michael! more

Esta is by far one of the best italian restaurants around! You can be sure that anything you get on the menu whether it be appetizers, even salad, you will not be disappointed! The lasagna and stuffed eggplant are to die for, as well as the bruscetta appetizer! All of the salad dresssing are homeade as well as everything else. The bar has a nice happy hour and everyone that works there is always friendly. I hightly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to grab a drink and enjoy a nice dinner out. Most definately a stop for a great and authentic homemade Italian meal. I just started going there recently and love the food! The stuffed banana peppers are a meal in itself! more

Our first visit to Esta Esta was so good that we thought we'd try again. We were not so impressed the second time. Unlike our first visit, the staff last evening was sparse and not well informed. We ordered a glass of wine listed on the wine list then told that they didn't have it. Actually, the girl who took our order said she was the bartender but didn't know what wine was available. She did apologize for sounding so 'dumb' (her words). The veal marsala was pounded so thin it was hard to chew (delicious on our first visit) and the eggplant was way too cheesy. I will recommend the stuffed banana peppers which were just as good as they were on our first visit. They also devalued the Entertainment/Enjoy discount to $6 (from $11) because of the high cost of food. Hmmmmm? more

The lasagna at Esta Esta is the best I've had, even better than Mom's! It is loaded with home made tomato sauce and LOTS of cheese. They also serve stuffed banana peppers that are great. I'd also recommend the french onion soup. The service here is always very friendly and I have never had to wait long for a seat or for my meal to be served. Walking in to this place is like walking back in time, but what they lack in modernity they more than make up for with their menu items and great staff. more

IT'S GREAT TO SEE THE RESTAURANT OPEN AGAIN. MICHAEL IS AN EXCELLENT CHEF. THE VEAL MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH AND I'D CHALLANGE ANYONE TO COMPARE THE STEAK WITH RUTH CHRIS. The creator has smiled on us all with the reopening of this great restaurant. If you are one of those who must always go to a restaurant you see on tv, you do yourself no favors by skipping Esta Esta. The food is magnificent and the service makes you feel like royalty.
