New Young Woman Doctor! Fabulous... 2/5/2012

I've used Essex Women's Health Center since coming to Montclair in 2001, mostly because its in my neighborhood. Over the year's Ive wondered at times why I returned; the various doctors, while well-intentioned--have not always been either sensitive nor up to date in their approaches and knowledge. Well THANK GOD they had the good sense to bring a new young woman doctor on staff who is all of the above!! What a delight to meet this young OB GYN and get excellent care, sensitive care and knowledgeable care. Ive never written a review of doctors before, but she deserves it... more

A Real ""Retro"" experience 6/16/2010

I went to Dr. DeMarsico for 3 years, and reported to him I was having symptoms of peri-menopause (hot flashes, low libido & irregular periods). He told me that in his experience he found that most of women's issues during peri-menopause were ""between their ears"". I was astounded & asked if he was kidding. He told me he could refer me to a psychiatrist if I'd like. The only solution to my symptoms was to give me 4-months supply of birth control pills. By the way, I was 47 at the time.
