Essence VIP

I was extremely pleased after my very first visit to Essence VIP and plan on making this the home for my hair services. I was greeted promptly, serviced right away and most importantly was EDUCATED on my hair. Most beauticians just do their job and send you off... but what was especially gratifying was that Terez educated me on what I needed to do to improve the health of my hair. more

I absolutely love this salon. I was a client of Terez years ago (when I was a teenager) and I moved away. I regret that I didn't come back to her as soon as I moved back because she really knows what she's doing and she makes sure that she lets you know what you need as well as listens to what you want. All of the stylists there are wonderful. Everyone is always friendly, knowledgeable and talented. I would highly recommend Essence VIP to any and everyone. If you have damaged hair, healthy hair, long, short or just want someone who will make sure you leave satisfied and looking good then Essence is the place to go. When at Essence VIP I got great service from the great head massaging shampoo to the consumer and employee conversations. I was warmly greeted when I arrived and nicely exited with sweet good-byes. I got the Keratine Treatment from natural hair to light wave. Once flat ironed my hair was silky smooth and shiny. I could tell right away once she started to blow dry my hair that is was easier to manage, less frizzy, and she was able to use less product. Even weeks later I can tell thr treatment is stil doing its magic and I am able to spend less money on hair products, less time combing, and still has a lighter curl than my hair without the Keratine. I AM planning on going back and becoming a regular customer of this Treatment. It is a pretty penny but my hair is worth it and it does look pretty :). I would highly recommend Essence VIP to any lady wanting a perfect blowout that wouldn't leave your hair greasy, stiff, or too hard to manage. I have natural African 4a/4b hair. Its the tightest kinks and coils and I love it!!! I'm in the United States Navy and I know that my hair is very damaged because of boot camp and the crazy things I did to my hair before hand. I went to Essence VIP by recommendation of another Sailor. I initially only wanted a wash and trim. I wish I had just stuck with that. more

I'd gone to the same stylist for over 20 yrs. When she retired I looked around for someone that I could trust to care for my hair. I did try one other salon, and although I was pleased with the way my hair was treated, I did not like the atmosphere of the salon; and after a few trips decided to not return. I went for months before finding Essence VIP on the internet. I had some concerns, however, these were quickly put to rest after my first visit. Ms. Terez was not only knowlegeable, the atmosphere of her salon was welcoming. I am extremely pleased with the service, pricing and customer-oriented atmosphere, and would recommend this salon to anyone interested in a truly professional haircare experience. I found Essence VIP online. I've lived in Lake County for almost 3 years and had yet to find a hair salon that could provide good hair care for natural hair. Therefore unless I went into Chicago I was left with the only option, to care for my hair myself. I went to Essence with a very thick afro that was tangled, hard to manage. Essence staff welcomed me and worked hard with my hair to detangle and treat my scalp which was extremely dry. Ms. Terez was wonderful, no nonsence and very professional in counseling me about my hair. She reassured me that with proper maintenance my hair would become better and she provided me with options on how I could do better in treating my hair. My first time visit to this salon, I had a great experience. This was not like some of the other salons I visited and believe me I go all over the country. I made an appointment and they were able to fit me right in. When I got there, I thought it would be long, but to my surprise it was not long at all. The shampoo staff and stylist did an excellent job on my hair. The cut was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S-L-Y off the chain. I have had so many compliments on it. I will be definitely going back.
