You know the old saying ""never eat in an empty restaurant"" Well the opposite is true too... if you have to wait 15-20 min on line to get a bagel they are doing something right....

I went to the Ess-a-Bagel in Midtown. I got a dozen bagels (for my office) and everyone LOVED them! They asked a million times where I got them!! They were soo good!! MMMMM This place is definitely recommended! more

I love this place and have yet to find a better bagel! They have a grerat selection of bagels and spreads, not to mention great people that wprk there. These people take their bagels seriously, and even when the line is out the day, they make sure you will be soon too. Definitely worth going again and again and again! Most bagels taste like mortar for your intestinal track. Ess-a-bagel is the only one in town that tastes like food and is good enuf to eat with nothing on it. But try it with a shmear of scallion cheese and a dollop of the best whitefish salad in town more

Great bagels, bizarre location 8/1/2002

Unless you're at NYU med center, it seems less appealing to come here. The bagels are great, but can still be found elsewhere. Plus old guys who refer to their customers as ""hey, sexy"" dont' really get my vote. more
