I moved here from Houston a few months ago and was badly in need of a haircut. Seeing all of the fun updating and rebuilding going on around Fort Worth, I decided to try Esoterica after spotting it while at the always fun and edgy clothing boutique, Dean-Kingston. I called on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get the time I requested with Dawn. The salon is hip and fun and even better, turns into a lounge after 9 p.m. with a full bar toward the back, beckoning you to come back during ""lounge time"". They offer free internet, with computers in the waiting area and a range of Sebastian and Pureology products. Even though I was running late, the super-cute reception staff were very friendly and polite. When Dawn came out to greet me, she was also very polite, shook my hand, introduced herself and took me to her station to get started. She listened to the challenges I'd been having with my hair (slight thinning, cowlicks, fine asian hair that does what it wants!) and then listened to what I wanted. Not only did she do exactly what we discussed, but she did it extremely well! She made a mention of continuing education, so I know the salon probably requires the stylists to stay current and skilled. She gave my fine hair choppy texture, but didn't over texturize, which can make the hair look thin and dry. She found that perfect balance that so many others had not been able to do. Not only that, but the whole experience was fun and laidback! Dawn was nice to chat with and the whole vibe in the salon was comfortable and trendy. I highly recommend this place and I hihgly recommend Dawn, too!
