Who doesn't remember getting up in the morning and sitting with your morning corn flakes and looking over at dad with his paper opened up in front of him?
The times of mom and pop sitting at a breakfast table with the paper and a cup of coffee may be gone but I'm not sure it's an 'art' that should be forgotten.
Having a local newspaper keeps one in touch with our own little world. While anyone can click on a mouse and retrieve the most up to date news or turn on the tv and see 800 various news programs how many can say they see local reviews and comments from other local residents regarding our own personal situations and crisis's going on?
I think the art of the newspaper, while perhaps outdated, should never go out of style. I still enjoy picking up a Sunday Times and glancing at the comics or reading a touching story about someone who lives just next door.
The Erie Times Publishing company is seeing some of it's darkest days with the changes in technology making news so readily available but I hope people don't lose that hometown touch that we can only get by picking up the newspaper. I personally enjoy an expensive media, delivered to my doorstep for reading at my own convenience. I hope others do too.
