I cannot attest to the prices for dry cleaning or alterations are being consciously & dishonestly manipulated. I dropped off 4 pairs of pants that need the hems on the cuffs repaired. I asked how much per pair. The owner was summoned and answered to me $12 per. When I came to pick them up, the charge was $16. I refused to pay that; the owner was summoned and looked at the ticket saying, ""I didn't know they had cuffs, too. That's why it's $16 per."" He did not apologize for his mistake and insisted that I pay the price as marked. I refused to do so. I pointed out to him that no price list was posted and that his employees never knew any of the charges. He then said I should never return, then added he would hold the pants until I paid the full amount. A woman his age (wife?) wrested the pants from him and was reducing the price appropriately. The man then said he wouldn't accept my credit card because he assumed I would dispute the charge once outside the door. ""Go down the street and get some cash!"" he yelled at me, but I proceeded to pull the money right out of my wallet and paid for them.
