DELICIOUS Thai food in a Quaint, relaxing atmosphere 5/27/2007

I was a little worried when my once favorite Walnut Creek restaurant (""Royal Thai Palace"") changed hands and names in the last year, becoming ""Erawan."" But let me tell you, this place is still RIGHT ON with both service and food! The staff are lovely, gracious people, often dressed in beautiful traditional Thai dress, and always with a warm smile. I'm completely addicted to their Panang Chicken Curry, which is so good that sometimes I wonder if it's more a dessert than an entree! Also on my must have list: ""Fresh Rolls (with shrimp)."" These are like (huge!) spring rolls with bean thread, carrots, fresh basil and shrimp, served with a sweet peanut sauce. YUM!! Pros: Food, service, relaxed atmosphere Cons: It's not big enough for bigger groups to gather. more

Better than the rest Thai cuisine in Walnut Creek. 10/16/2006

Thai food is gooood!! It's my favorite, and I'm not even Thai. Small and cozy location, and so far the best Thai food in Walnut Creek. Moved here from a place that has tons of Thai restaurants and this comes the closest to being at home. Try it out sometime. The Pad Se Ew is yummy. Pros: Very good food, and friendly service. Cons: Small place; couldn't bring a big group of people here. more

Hottest dishes from Royal Thai: 1. Garlic Chicken 2. Basil Chicken This place is nice, quiet, and quaint. Definitely a good escape from those big busy restaurants like the Outback Steakhouse. ENjoY! Pros: Location, Food, Service more
