I was very upset with Enterprise this morning when I went in to pick up my rental. I called on Monday and made reservations. I told the person I spoke to that I would be using a debit card and verified what I would need when I arrived. I specifically requested an Equinox because my wife had rented one from Enterprise before and liked it. The agent said the reservation was all set up and I could pick it up this morning with no problem. I should also mention that I do have an Enterprise Plus membership.\r

When I arrived I was informed that because I was using a debit card I could not have anything more than a mini-van. I explained to the manager that I had been told on Monday that my reservation was confirmed for the Equinox, that I had told the agent at the time that I was using a debit card and that I have rented the Equinox in the past with the same debit card.\r

I am not a frequent customer because I don't have to rent a car very often but when I do I have always been a loyal customer and used Enterprise in the past with no problem. If this is a new policy I think it is a poor decision and I should have at least been made aware of it when I made the reservation.\r

I do not own a credit card because I don't like them. If I have to obtain one for the sole purpose of renting any vehicle I want in the future, there really is no reason why I should continue to be a loyal Enterprise customer.
