My experience with Enterprise is that I needed a rental for a week because my car was being repaired. I was hit by an individual on the cell phone and their insurance company was going to pay for the rental. The 1st car a Toyota was returned after 4 hrs. noticing the smell of somebody smoked heavily in the car. The car was also dirty. They gave me a Nissan sedan as a replacement. I drove out of the lot and noticed the front right turn signal lamp was out and not blinking 2 blocks away. The car also was dirty and the bumper and front left panel had major scratches. I returned the replacement and they gave a me a 3rd car, a Buick small SUV. It was a much better replacement, at least it was a newer model with 16K miles and clean. It did have a 1/2"" deep dent on the passenger door and the front window had 2 small stone chips. Since I needed the rental to drive back and forth to work, it was acceptable. They also dropped the rental cost a few dollars cheaper than the Toyota. The manager at Enterprise understood the concerns and both replacements were done professionally. The car showed a 1/4 tank of gas and he said I could return it less than the 1/4 of a tank or empty if I wanted. I've never ever rented any car anywhere in country that did not have a full tank of gas. I returned the SUV with slightly more than a 1/4 tank of gas.\r
My recommendation is as with any car rental company, check out the car and record any damages / scratches on paper prior to leaving the rental yard.
