First, when I came here for an eye exam I had a long wait between getting the pressure test done and actually seeing the eye doctor (despite the fact that I obviously had an appointment). I had to sit in the waiting room chairs, with my contacts out not able to do anything for a considerable amount of time (at least a half hour if not more).
When they called me on Saturday afternoon to tell me my glasses were in (it takes a WEEK!) they failed to tell me they closed at 4 on Saturdays (what kind of place closes at 4 on a SATURDAY??) and that they are closed all day Sunday and all day Monday (holiday). I found this out after driving all the way up there. Looks like I'll have to wait until Tuesday now. I'm really disappointed that they did not inform me that they close EARLY on Saturdays (now, I just moved to the area, but where I am from, places tend to stay open LATER on the weekends) and that they are closed ALL DAY on Sundays (who does that now-a-days??).
I'll be looking for a private practice eye doctor for my next exam, and visiting a lenscrafters for my next pair of glasses (bigger selection, and they are open on weekends, not to mention that they can usually have glasses done in one HOUR not one WEEK)
Furthermore, The staff is rude and less than helpful. It took SOO long to actually get this new pair of glasses, after they ordered the ones that I picked the lens came scratched. When I went in to show them they did not believe me at first, and I had to really press them to look at the lens. They kept cleaning it and handing it back to me but, shocker, it was still scratched. They ordered a new lens and when it came in they told me to come back in an hour. I went back several hours later and they said ""oh did you get a phone call saying it was ready?"" NO but nobody ever asked for a phone number... turns out they broke the new lens when they were trying to cut it so they had to order another new one, only they did not do it right away because they were not sure I wanted to order another new one (??? yea, they are brilliant people).
They have a 30 day return policy for frames and when I decided I didn't like the ones that I ordered, within the 30 days (I had to order them w/o them having them in stock, their selection is rather small!), they gave me a really really hard time about wanting new frames, they told me that no other frames are going to fit better, and really talked me out of it.
Now it is past the 30 days and I am stuck with what I have- I've brought the frames to a lenscrafters and they said that the problems I have with them fitting is b/c the bridge is too wide and they cannot do anything about that although I should have got a pr with a narrower bridge. EmpireVision didn't mention anything about bridges, they just said that all the frames are exactly alike.
Really, really avoid this place. Go somewhere else with nicer people and a better selection.
I also had an eye appointment here- despite having an actual appointment made, I still waited almost 45 minutes. Ridiculous.
Pros: nada
Cons: long waits, hours are terrible, staff is rude
