An Animal Hospital in Shop City doesn't exactly seem like it would be a great place to take your beloved pet for their health care. The location of the Shop City Animal Hospital was a bit of a turn-off for me, but since I lived near by, and own a cat who cannot stand car rides, I thought I'd check it out. I worked at an animal hospial for many years in the past, and have had a terrible time finding a veterinary hospital in the Syracuse area that met my standards, as I know all too well the ins and outs of the practice. To my astonishment, I was completely blown away by the superior quality of care, and attention my cat recieved at Shop City. Although the exterior of the building has seen better days, the inside of the office is well maintained, and clean. The receptionists are very courteous, and make a true effort to schedule office visits around my schedule, including allowing me to bring my cat in immediately, or within a few hours when anything remotely serious is going on with her. They are also up-front about the costs of the visit, and offer a special 'care credit' option in case your pet has an emergency, and you don't have the extra money on hand (care credit is a special GE credit card that offers no, or low interest payment plans). I am most impressed though, by the way my cat is treated by the Veterinarians. I have never seen a more complete phycical examination, even during all my years of assisting vets with their exams. The Veterinarians are also extremely kind, and gentle with the animals they see, and explain everything that they are doing, and everything that is going on in easy to understand terms. Shop City is the only animal hospital I have found that exists because the people there care about the animals, rather than the money that can be made by treating them. So long as I live even remotely near Shop City, I will never take my cat anywhere else, nor would I reccomend any other Veterinary practice in the Syracuse area.
Pros: Two thumbs up: Clean, Caring, Honest, Professional, Patient, Knowledgeable
Cons: None
