Awesome store! It's about time someone give the other stores a run for the money. Today's Pet is better priced, has experienced sales people and carries a lot of cool stuff and everything is alway in stock. I've been there half a dozen times this past month setting up a new reef tank and they always have what I need. A+ Guys! more

One of my favorite shops at The Mall in Columbia is Today's Pet. They're a pet store that sells a number of different kinds of pets. My favorite are the adorable puppies. I always check to see if they have any Pug puppies. I haven't given up on my dream of owning a Pug puppy some day. more

The sales person kept checking in on us every two minutes while my wife and I were discussing this purchase and before we made a decision she cut off his collar and said, ""Go to your new Mommy and Daddy."" We went to this store because of all the positive reviews but I think some of these reviews are written by Today's Pet staff because ALL of the puppies we checked out were extremely hyper. We did buy a puppy from the store. We were overcome by the cuteness of the one tired puppy brought to us. We were told the puppy was already neutered and had a soft spot on his head and were told this was normal. When we got home the puppy seemed okay at first but then started to become very aggressive with our 1.5 year old Shih tzu who was only sniffing him. Now I know people are going to say, ?he was just being playful? and I would not blame you. But you did not see what I saw which was: this puppy would growl, bare his teeth and with a scream lunge at our dog?s face repeatedly until we separated them. This happened every time we put them together. Our vet said that possible in-breeding can lead to the soft spot which may cause brain damage leading to aggression problems. She recommended we return the puppy to the store because he would not outgrow this. When we brought the puppy back to the store the manager told us there would be a $400.00 restocking fee to return the puppy. We had him less than three days. The manager didn?t see what happened but basically told us we didn?t know what we were talking about and there was nothing wrong with the puppy. The puppy also had an inguinal hernia which the salesperson at the pet store was no big deal and they had already neutered him because of an undescended testicle. When we told our vet about this, she said that breeders are required to neuter puppies with inguinal hernias because it is a birth defect and hereditary. Bottom line- a responsible breeder would not have bred a dog like this and if this puppy didn?t come from a puppy mill then it came from a backyard breeder who was not experienced in breeding dogs. more

We purchases our puppy from Today's Pet Store in Frederick over a year ago and are very happy with the puppy. I have been to many shelters and they do not have what many people are looking for and regardless of what the uniformed are saying the puppies don't come from puppy mills. I have reccomended them to our neighbors and they have also become satisfied customers. more

I have also been shopping around for the supplies and have found that Today's Pet Store has the best prices on everything! I kind of assumed that PetSmart or PetCo would be cheaper- but they are EXPENSIVE! I'm feel better buying from a smaller company and I'm saving money, getting great service and a healthy happy pet! more

I love visiting this store! Last year we got a puppy here. Our dog is awesome and super friendly. He was healthy when we brought him home and he has stayed that way for the year that we have had him. I see him living to be 15 :). We are thinking of getting a chinchilla and the staff there have been very helpful showing us what we will need and letting us play with the chinchillas that they have (they are so soft and sweet!) more

My family really enjoys this store. We have had a variety of pets purchased from Today's Pet Store. We've enjoyed learning about the habits and personalities of an iguana, hedge hogs, guinea pigs, and hamsters. Our Giant Schnauzer from Today's Pet Store is my favorite dog of a lifetime! She is very healthy and humorous. I will say she is often admired as she is out and about. She has been a delight to train. more
