ugh...not her again... 10/24/2008

I have a friend who worked at Flight with the Chef (who seems to write her own reviews all the time), we were shocked to see her here. She's been canned at place after place for being a miserable person to be around. The staff gets screamed at, they know she's nuts, and basically ruins the feel of a nice place. You can feel her bad karma a mile away. The food's OK, the bread puddings good (a little heavy though) but nothing to write about here. I'll be back when this restaurant realizes what other places have... Pros: OK food in a nice environment Cons: A crazy chef more

Hinsdale has terrible restaurants. 10/21/2008

Embrace has food that is respectable, but far from resplendant. Zak's Place too is very ordinary. Pros: mediocre food Cons: rude manage (male) more

Brace yourself if you meet Chef Maya...for the worse! 10/21/2008

I was shocked to see that someone has made the mistake of bringing this chef to their establishment. I met Chef Maya at one of her previous places of employment (which are many) and made one comment about my meal, only to be berrated and embarrassed in front of my quests. more

Check out the new chef- Chef Maya Rotman-Zaid 10/5/2008

The new chef Maya Rotman-Zaid is an amazing new culinary up and coming super star. She has started a total transformation of the dinning experience at Embrace. When I heard Chef Maya was coming I was so excited. I have eaten her food at multiple different places and it is always a treat. I can't wait for the relaunch to see what culinary delights Chef Maya has thought up. Oh, and make sure to get there while there is still plenty of her bread pudding because it is really special. Pros: The new chef is a culinary up and coming super star. Cons: They are not as busy as I would expect them to be. more

Great destination spot for anytime-anyday-any mood 10/4/2008

I love embrace, their food and desserts are awsome. I went there for dinner last night. It was a little slow, but I don't know why. The menus are great, the atmosphere is great, the people are nice. I really don't know why this place isn't on Chicago's Top 10 list. Pros: they are trying to make it all better, I think they are succeeding. food, atmosphere, people, it's all good Cons: its not full of other people for me to smooz with more

Nice environment, better than average food, but nothing extraordinary 5/16/2008

was at Embrace recently, and their space is excellent...i only wish the food was as good. Embrace should also make up its mind as to whether it's a boutique or it's a restaurant. All the clothing distracts from the degustatory experience. In terms of cuisine, embrace seems fairly competent, but their consistency isn't quite there, and, as yet, they deliver decent food, but do not dazzle, like, Salbute did. Hinsdale really is boring, with no destination spots anymore. Zak's is another that is respectable, but nothing to write home about. We need a vie or a courtright's level restaurant in town again. Salbute, COME BACK! Pros: embrace is a lot better than they were two years ago, but still nothing to write home to ma about Cons: unfriendly, ungracious manager ""greeted"" us with anything but warmth more

Finally 4/7/2006

Intimate seating within a loungy, club feel, Embrace offers the perfect place for a night out with friends or just for two. The menu is a culinary treat, and the live music on weekend nights adds to a memorable experience. Finally, a welcomed hot spot for the western suburbs. more

Wonderful place to eat! 3/10/2006

This beautiful little restaurant in downtown Hinsdale is utterly charming. The staff is wonderful, the food is fresh and beautifully presented. Everything from soups to salads, entrees to desserts, has been wonderul. My personal favorites are the corvina (a type of sea bass), free range chicken, and the amazing creme brulee. And to top it all off you can pick up some fun (albeit expensive) fashion finds on the way out. Best new restaurant in the Western Suburbs!! Pros: Fabulous food!!, Portions are perfect, Beautiful atmosphere Cons: Somewhat limited menu more
