Steak ! Steak! 4/5/2012

I was so happy when I found Ember Steakhouse! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. The management is incredible steak almost like in Peter Luger's. I will definitely come back here for a special date night or special occasion. more

amazing, tender steak, great service! 1/13/2012

amazing steak . so tender and juicy, seasoned to perfection. great portions for reasonable prices. very fresh meat and the service was great. great for the family , a date, or anything - just plain great food!! more

Best Steakhouse Yet 1/6/2010

Must say this is the best steakhouse I've been to yet. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection but that could have something to do with the private meat house they have right next door where they slice their own cuts. The service was excellent, the food was affordable and the waiter even remembered me when I went back the second time and each time I left stuffed and satisfied. Now some would say peter lugers is the best steakhouse in brooklyn but these people must not have been to embers yet. Embers is by far waaaaay better than lugers. Neither lugers food or service can compare to embers. Definately Recommend for steak lovers. Pros: very affordable more

reopened for lunch yay 12/18/2009

I am so happy that Embers reopened for lunch. They serve a sliced fillet mignon (their for of burger) on an English muffin and it is amazing. You also get fries and whatever comes with the price of $8.95 for the meal. Delish...\r They also have a ceasar salad with chicken breast and many other lunches that are amazing for the same one price. Pros: Embers burger more

Great Steak,New Cheap Lunch Menu 11/16/2009

Lunch special is $8.95 Mon - Fri. Noon 4:00 PM\r Can order T-bone steak for 2 $39.95 and sirloin steak for one at Lunch. We hadn't been to Embers for about 10 years, when I found out they opened for Lunch. I took my husband for his birthday (11/16/09) and we ordered the T-bone steak for 2 at lunch time. It's not Luger's but much better than Austins at at less then 1/2 price of Luger's or Austins, we will definitely be back. Service was excellent. Pros: Great Lunch Menu Cons: You have to ask to order steak from dinner menu. more

Nice Restaurant, Consistently Great Food 9/3/2009

I have eaten here quite a few times. I am not a steak eater but usually go here with steak fans and they always love the steaks and compare them to Peter Luger's. I usually order the fish or chicken special and am never disappointed. They will go out of the way to accomodate special requests whenever possible. One of my absolute favorite things is their potatoe pie. I could eat it every day! Pros: Potatoe Pie, service, valet parking more

A Romantic Valentine 3/9/2009

My fiance & I went to Embers on Valentines day & even though we had to wait about an hour... it was well worth the wait but while your waiting you can sit at the bar and have a drink & socialize... Embers is a very friendly place, great waiters & hostess.. The prices are descent & the FOOD IS EXCELLENT... You don't have to travel far for a good steak or pay twice as much for a good steak when you can go to EMBERS.... Pros: The food is Excellent Cons: Having to wait but it's worth the wait.... more

ROMANTIC ENDING 3/8/2009

I took my other half to Embers for his birthday in 2/08 and he fell in love with Embers Steak. He has lived in the area for over 16 years & never set foot into Embers. We went to Embers for Valentines Day before he proposed to me & I'll recommend this restaurant to everyone... their food is delicious & the price is reasonable... So ladies if you want to get your man in a good mood.. take him to Embers!!! Pros: Food Cons: Waiting for a table... crowded..but I'm not complaining more

GOOD Restaurant 10/4/2008

I work in the neighborhood so I go to this restaurant a lot because it is so damn good!\r The service is always very professional and friendly. \r They make the best steak dishes. And they consider the sustainability of the steak they use. \r They always have great salads, don't care much for the soups because they're always creamed based, but that's just me, others really enjoy them. I would recomend with out hesitation.\r \r more

Best deal in town !!! 12/26/2007

\r My friends and I have been eating at Embers for 20 years. I have had many parties, and occasions to celebrate at this great establishment. They have valet parking, and are very accommodating. The t-bone steak is wonderful, and so is the fried shrimp. Pasta, also. Try their cappucino; you have never had it like this anywhere else. They have a friendly atmosphere, and you may feel like you are in ""Cheers"" . The bartender makes a great drink. No skimping on the alcohol. Try his apple or chocolate martini...yum. more

Terrible! 5/24/2007

I had occasion to dine at the Embers Steakhouse last night with my Mother, an elderly, highly moral church-going woman. While the high priced food was OK, there was a table of 3 men seated behind me. They were very loud and beyond crass, swearing curse-words and discussing for example the uncontrollable bowel habits of their family dogs and the messes said dogs made, as well as cursing up a storm, while the wait-staff fawned all over them. There were children and other elderly nearby, and instead of anyone stepping up to these obnoxious diners, to ask them to keep it down, reduce the cursing, or expressing a plea for some well expected civility, the louder they got, the more ingratiating the staff seemed to be. \r If this is in fact, the order of that place, they will never see me in there again! My Mother was upset and embarrassed, and it was a disgraceful display, with a seemingly unviligent and uncaring staff there. AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ARE FOUL MOUTHED AND ARE COMFORTABLE IN SUCH A PLACE! Pros: OK Food Cons: No sense of caring for diners and NOT INEXPENSIVE more

The price is great for their great steak as the neighborhood place...parking is tough 5/22/2007

I've been in and out of this place for few years and I have never been disappointed with whatever I ordered.\r Their porterhouse for 2....I can handle that on my own on a relaly hungry day. Always cooked to perfection and well seasoned.\r The price is perfect for what you get. Taste like Peter Luger or other MORE expensive places. \r But be really to wait in line for a table on the weekend and parking in that area is very tough. You will be very lucky if you can find something within 2 blocks\r I brought a friend there once and then he became a regular. He's there like every other week,\r Definitely recommend this place Pros: STEAK STEAK STEAK and more STEAK Cons: parking and long wait for table more

Never Again! 2/4/2007

Embers used to be a favorite of ours until we recentely had a special occasion dinner there. They squeezed our large party next to the kitchen, screwed up our appetizer order, was slow with our drinks, gave us too many coffees and not enough esspressos. On top of all that they charged us for too many drinks, supposedly slipped us Grey Goose Vodka in mixed drinks such as screwdrivers, and rang up our bill on other items that we couldn't disprove. Plus, we only had one server who was miserable. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! Pros: Steak Cons: Service and price more

Avoid Ember's Restaurant at all cost! Super expensive, below average food, and BU GS! 1/14/2007

""DON""T!""\r \r Food is horribly average and super duper overpriced! Expect to spend triple what an average upscale restaurant charges.\r \r There was a co ckroa ch in my daughter's pasta! She was sick and ran to the bathroom to th row up!\r \r They took her meal off the bill and gave us all free dessert and beverages as a make up for the ro ach.\r \r The caesar salad was $9.95 and had a few pieces of lettuce with croutons. They gave 7 string beans with your $30 steak. 12 french fries. Yippee!\r \r Bill was $312 for 10 people, and it was not even close to worth it.\r \r Bon appetit! Pros: Nazz was a good waiter. He was attentive and pleasant! Cons: Average food, and co ckroa ch in bowl of pasta. more

Over rated, over priced 12/16/2006

This place is really expensive. I have been here a few times and I am not impressed. Most dishes are at least $17. The portions are large at least, but that doesnt make up for the quality. The steak is fine. The chicken piccota (sp?) is good. It's a gamble I guess. For the amount of money you will end up spending, take a trip to the city. In NYC, there is no reason to pay a large sum of money for mediocre steak. more

COLD STEAK, BAD SERVICE, RUDE WAITERS AND OWNER 10/27/2006

Bay Ridge residents are disgusted with Embers!!! The steaks are served cold. When you complain they are rude and obnoxious. The waiters and the boss have cursed out and even threatened quite a few of my friends, aquaintences and neighbors. They think they're mobsters. The valet parkers triple park in front of the restaurant and somehow they get away with it. They must have very good connections to get away with their bad attitudes and service for so many years. Most people in Bay Ridge will not step foot in Embers. They know they deserve better than cold steak and abusive treatment. So if you have any dignity, avoid Embers!!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

rude, obnoxious 8/19/2006

The owner Lou is a tyrrant. He is rude and he was very open in expressing it. My family and I went to the restaurant to celebrate a very important event. We called in advance and asked if we can bring our own wine. The answer was yes. When we arrived we brought several bottles of wine, champange and alcohol. We were promptly told that we can only use one bottle of wine. There was thirteen of us. We wanted to actually useone bottle of champagne. At that point the conversation turned into a ""get out of here we don't need your business."" He (Lou) went on a rampage and started cursuing in front a restaurant full of people. I would say he is unstable and rude and I would never go there ever again and would never reccommend it to any one. Cons: rude staff and inappropriate behavior by owner more
