Emanuel Homestead Goldens

This is a puppy mill. I should have gone with my gut which was telling me there was something wrong after our first visit. Chris, the owner, keeps all of the adult dogs and puppies in a barn! They live in a barn full time! Our puppy Gracie's Mom and Dad were not wagging their tails during our visits and seemed very unhappy and scared. Very Un-Golden like. I can honestly say that Chris doesn't seem to like dogs, at all. We bought our beautiful Golden, Gracie, in 2015. Since then we've spent close to $20,000 on Gracie's hospital care for Myasthenia Gravis. She has been in and out of the hospital for the last two years. On the brink of death, then somehow pulling through. She is on a daily regimen of medication. Gracie is strong and she's in remission, and she's going to make it despite the way Chris runs her business. Please don't support Emanuel Homestead and their puppy mill. There are wonderful breeders out there. Do your research and find recommendations. I should have posted this awhile ago but I hope this helps someone out there now or in the future. more

We got our dog from them when we didn't know the reality: Breeding is disgusting and many dogs die in shelters annually. We got our puppy from them and he was wonderful, but died at the age of 7 due to a sudden liver problem. The vet said it was genetic. Likely the result of poor breeding practices. We had a different dog from a backyard breeder (again, before we knew) and she lived to be 13. Additionally, the poor dogs used for breeding are kept in horrible conditions. They never see the inside of a house. They live in a barn. That is no place for a dog to live. These disgusting people should be shut down. more

they breed dogs that #1-are below standard for the breed. #2-do Not test for hereditary problems such as hips, eyes, skin disorders or HEART by cardiologist. AND they have the nerve to charge the same price as show breeders who test for everything and provide support if there is a problem. all youll get from them is a sick or dead dog. anyone who has a health problem nordic wont back needs to sue rhem, period. dont be fooled by fancy breeding rooms more
