Amazing and CHEAP! 3/21/2010

This was a great find, definitely a place that locals only know about. This place is a little hidden treasure tucked away in downtown Carmel. I was fortunate enough to stop in by recommendation of the manager at my bed & breakfast. We had a discounted dinner since we came in before 6:30 PM. There were about 8 different entrees to choose from off of a special menu. I only wish that we could have discovered it sooner so that we could come back in again to try breakfast or lunch. Best Dinner I've had in a long time 3/18/2010

I've been here to Em Le's about 3 times now. I've had breakfast twice, and just recently tried dinner. The salmon was really fresh, as we were the veggies. I had some garlic mashed potatoes that were perfectly seasoned. They offered some really good champagne in individual bottles. It was a really good dinner, which made all of us really happy. more

I really really love this place 2/17/2010

I drive from San Jose just to eat at Em Le's in Carmel for dinner. I enjoy the atmosphere a lot, and I am always treated well by Jimmy and Mario. It is the cutest and most romantic little place, tucked away in a very picturesque part of Carmel. The food is always fresh and they don't mind customizing my order when asked. Having a balance of good service, great food, and quality atmosphere is very important to me, and I cannot find this at just any place, which is why I love Em Le's. Pros: Very delicious and unbeatable prices for Carmel, CA. Cons: Not open for dinner on Mon nights more

Excellent, high quality, DELICIOUS Food! 2/16/2010

I loved the food at Em Le's. I have tried other breakfasts in Carmel and nothing can compare to Em Le's. They have the best omelets I have ever tasted. The meat omelet in particular is just mouthwatering. The bacon is really high quality, and it isn't like the anything that you can buy in a grocery store. The prices are affordable and they always refill my coffee multiple times. By the way, they also serve freshly ground Lapperts coffee, which is a gourmet specialty brand that is very very high quality (no Folgers brand for me please). If you are looking for something special and are in Carmel or the surrounding area, then you should definitely try this place out. Pros: Best breakfast in Carmel, hands down! Cons: None that I can think of more

Best breakfast in Carmel 8/10/2006

The restaurant is housed in a historic old building in the heart of Carmel. It is a popular breakfast spot and rightfully so. We had to wait on a table since the restaurant is very small. It is definitely worth the wait, even if the seating is a bit cramped. The wait staff is highly professional and efficient. Our son had what can only be described as out of the world French Toast. Probably the best French Toast ever. My omelette was fantastic and was the best I had over the course of our 18 day trip along the CA coast. Highly recommended! more

According to the visitors' guide, Em Le's had the ""best breakfast in Carmel"". There was a picture of Clint Eastwood leading to early optimism, but the excitment wore off. I had a decent eggs benedict and my wife a salmon omlet. The fish was good, but the omlet itself unremarkable. The real problem was the bill: it had two additional items. When confonted, the waitress was apologetic but unconvincing. My instincts told me the local business was trying to rip off the tourists. She attempted to rectify the mistake but it was still wrong. We didn't notice the second mistake until we had already left the restaurant and had to return. She said she realized her second mistake after we left but didn't try to find us because it was raining. Not impressed. Anyway, we finally got things sorted out but given all the trouble I won't be heading back. Pros: quaint more
