DON'T GO 6/16/2008

Three of us went on a monday afternoon, it was pretty empty. They were out of at least 5 items on the menu. The food took about 25 minutes to arrive. My father had a flank steak with a salad. His plate had about four or five small strips of over cooked steak. It looked like a joke, we asked our very nice waitress if they accidently gave him half of an order and she said that is how it comes. The steak came with a head of iceberg lettuce cut in half and drenched in dressing. It was almost offensive. I had a bland veggie burger with an excellent ceaser salad. My brother had a Ham and Cheese melt that was ""okay"" as he said. I recommend just going for the beer. THe foodis not good and it takes way too long. i can't imagine how long it takes on a busy night. Pros: Great atmosphere Cons: Poor service, bad food more

Best Seattle Neighborhood Hangout 4/16/2007

Since we first moved to the neighborhood a few years ago, TangleTown bartenders (and local patrons) have always greeted us with open arms. Food is much more than your average pub fare. Fantastic service and delicious brews all in a perfect setting. Pros: Amazing service, tasty drinks more

Seasonal ales are the best 12/15/2006

Jasmine IPA gets me through the summer, I get so excited every fall when it's time for pumpkin ale, and then every winter when they roll out their dark brews. The rest of the beers are good, but the seasonal ones take the cake. You can get Elysian beer in stores, but it never compares to getting it on tap at one of their breweries. The food is average, the atmosphere is a little strange and disorienting (it doesn't seem complete somehow, like they never finished a remodel) but the beer's definitely worth the trip alone. And in the summer, when the big windows are open and there's a slight breeze, you can sit in the sun, watch joggers heading to Green Lake, sip your pint and think about how life is good. Pros: Good beer Cons: Average food more

Great food, Awesome Bartenders! 9/23/2006

I had a chicken sandwich and the tomato basil soup-both were excellent, my date had the pulled pork dish. She was a bit suprised when it came out as a soupy dish- but loved it anyways! The service was fast AND funny- she had our table laughing the whole way through our meal. Their IPA is one of my favorites- crisp and hoppy. We will definately return. Pros: Delicious beer/food- Personal/entertaining service Cons: Parking more

I guess they don't want customers... 3/28/2006

12 people. $260 tab. Not a busy evening and they complain to us for having too many people and for dividing the bill between $110 cash and 3 credit cards. What a joke. Not a good way to encourage people to return. We left thinking - ""Do they want our money or not?"" and ""Are they trying to drive away customers?"" 3 credit cards across 12 people did not seem excessive to us. Food and drinks were fine but we are unlikely to return because of this bizarre attitude. more

Are you kidding me? 10/5/2005

This place is great! I'm surpised that so many people can navigate their way to/through tangletown to keep this place packed and busy late into the weekday evenings. Although it still seems family friendly in the early evenings, it's nice to see that the chess and checker boards have been put away and the candles lit when the sun goes down to create a hip little bar and restaurant. Now if I can only find my way back out... Pros: Good parking, Open-plan, Service Cons: Needs to expand, Hard to find more

Great Place! 10/5/2005

Elysian Tangletown. A Great Neighborhood Bar 10/4/2005

The Elysian Tangletown is surely a great neighborhood bar, as it has all of the elements you would hope for in a quality establishment. The service is prompt, the food is great, and the beer...oh the beer! The Tangletown also has rotating cask pours which are truly what great beer is all about. You're certain to be surrounded by smiling patrons and staff making you feel not only welcome, but truly part of this great establishment. more

User review by saphyre 9/26/2005

Over the last year the service at this restaurant has significantly improved as has the atmosphere. This is the perfect neighborhood hangout for good food and tasty drinks. If you've been disappointed in the past, I highly recommend giving it another go. You won't regret it. more

Easily the worst bar experience in 20 years 6/9/2005

It's great when a load of Dr's, Dentists, Nurses and other health care professionals get ""thrown"" out of a bar because the waiting staff complain that ""we are ordering too much food"". We were there all of an hour...most food never arrived, what did was very poorly done, all drinks wrong. We complain, ""tough guy 22 year old"" manager threatens us, insults fly...we were all gobsmacked. In short, go across to the dive over the road. You'll at least be welcome. Pros: t is at least open Cons: Amatuer staff, Arrogant management, Boring more
