I did not realize how much my mom needed assisted living until she moved in to here. We were worried about her move from her house to a 2 bedroom apartment. We were surprised to find the change did not upset her. We are happy with Hearthstone and are please that we listened to the sales person to help us make the move. She is never in her apartment! Always doing something fun with her new friends. This is awesome. By the way, she got a great deal on her room. more

Dad went to a nursing home rehab after breaking a hip and complained the whole time about the food and lost 6 pounds while away from the assisted living. He kept saying that he wanted to go back to the assisted living to eat again! Thank-you Lillian for making my dad happy. We are so happy that he is back at Hearthstone. He is doing great and they where able to get the same Physical Therapist to come do his therapy which he really was pleased about. All his old friends were happy to see him, they had a little party. It was great to see him happy after a long rehab. Thanks guys. You know how to treat Dad like he should be treated. more

My Dad has been at Hearthstone for 4 years. We have gone through a few transitions with caregivers and managers, but most have been there longer than he has! I have been very happy with how my dad is treated by the caregivers, we even consider some of them family! Great place and care for the price. more

I looked at 7 assisted living communities before placing my dad here. We are happy with everyone! He was to the emergency room from an infection the 2nd week. We would not have found that if he was at home. The nurses and directors call us often and give us updates on his progress. The others places are newer. He did not like all the fancy stuff. I am glad he is here and getting the care that he needs. He is happy, so I am happy. The place is very clean, nicely decorated, and the people are wonderful. more

My parents moved into this community a year ago. They have met 2 other couples since they have been there and have all become very good friends. They did not want to go when we first suggested moving to an assisted living. They did want to give up driving. I was surprised to learn they could still drive. The Director picked up that my dad used to be a business person and quickly introduced him to couples and resident she knew he would enjoy talking to. Thank-you for making such a difference in my parent?s life and taking the time to know them, they are so much happier more

My wife is at this Hearthstone facility, and some of the things they provide are great, others are sub-par. She has a great apartment and is allowed to have her 2 cats. She is allowed to have her cats because the sales person lied about almost everything. The meals leave a lot to be desired. For a while it was almost all fried. Lets feed someone who has had 4 strokes food that will cause her to have a stroke! Great plan. The frequently serve liver, and most residents opt for the alternative, which they run out of, forcing residents to order dinner in from somewhere else or eat liver. The accounting is not great either. My wife was served liver (she eats in her room), she told them to take it back, they said to keep it because they had plenty. They then provided her with the alternative, but charged her for the liver she did not want. They also seem to have a hard time filing insurance claims and keeping payments straight. We had my father at this facility for 6 months and watched him deteriorate to the point he didn't know day from night. We paid monthly to have his meds distributed to him daily and found out that they would let meds run out without notifying us, and they wouldn't distribute meds correctly. It wasn't entirely the med room's fault as they were understaffed and appeared to handle more tasks than meds only which is unacceptable. The facility manager was made aware of these issues repeatedly but failed to resolve the issue (she actually contributed to the problem by pulling med room personnel from their jobs). I also had suspicions as to why frequent ambulances were at Hearthstone. Patients that fail to get appropriate meds don't do well. During my Dad's 6 month stay he fell and spent several days in the hospital. I would attribute this to improper med dosages. After leaving Hearthstone my Dad greatly improved. For $3,000+ per month, one would expect far better quality care for their loved more
