This is the place where you should get married all the time (assuming that u will get married more than once in your lifetime :D). The scenery is simply awesome. The price is a little steep but its for a good cause and such a day doesnt come many times in a life. So just splurge and have a great wedding at this wonderful location. Remember to book the house early to avoid disappointments. more

Beautiful! 11/7/2005

This would be such an amazing place to hold your spring or summer wedding reception! The scenery is awesome, so your pictures would be beautiful! It is a bit pricey, but seems to be well worth it! If you know anyone planning a wedding, this place is worth at least looking into! more

Here at the Ellwood House Museum you can have a great looking wedding. Just make sure you book it well enough in advance because they get booked fast. They are a little on the high side but not for the way your great special day will turn out. They have some great scenery to take some great looking pictures at. YOu will not be disappointed here. more

A victorian mansion and a piece of DeKalb's history. 8/10/2005

The Ellwood House Mansion is open for touring on Tuesdays 1PM and 3PM. The home is located just east of the NIU campus. The home is filled with ornate Victorian era furnishings. The home is well preserved and it is breathtaking to see the 3 story spiral walnut staircase. The home's original price a mere $50,000 to build! The owner was one of the men who developed barbed wire. more
