Worse car buying experience ever! 2/20/2012

My husband and I flew to New Orleans to buy our 4dr Toyota Tacoma and drove up to Staunton,VA to buy the other used truck. We thought that the way their were pushing us to pay for the truck and get us out of dealership so they could close was a little rushed. The 1994 toyota was beautiful looking but what we didn't know is that the dealership didn't like the tick tick sound all older toyota trucks make. So the owner rebuilt the engine and never told us. We noitice when looking the engine over with Ron after test drive didn't look right wasn't the orginal like we were told. Ron said he didn't know anything other than to sell them. So we were pressured to get this truck paid for and they wanted to go home. We paid for the truck and drove 231 miles and engine blew up. Then it cost us $300 out of our pocket to tow this truck back wasted a whole day doing this. We still haven't gotten all of our money back as promised. The owner laughed when I asked for the money back it took to tow this truck back. The owner said in front of his sales people that he was the one that took the engine apart to rebuild it as it was makes a tick tick sound. We were never told til this until we towed the truck back, that the engine was rebuilt. The never said on autotrader about having any engine rebuilt that it was all original. I would never buy from this dealer they can't be t rusted and are not honest. I am still waiting for $200 to be put back on my visa card. That was suppose to be back on yesterday! more

Best Car Buying Experience Yet 1/28/2012

I found a leftover 2011 Escalade they had on the internet at a very good price. I sent an inquiry from Autotrader and got a response from Codie within 15 minutes. He finally convinced me to make the drive from Salem to take a test drive. He taught me how to work all of the technology and I decided I had to have it. The manager gave me more than I expected for my SRX and soon thereafter I drove home in a new Escalade. Codie said he was fairly new to car sales, but he made the process very transparent and easy from the first email. Thanks guys! more
