Ellerbe Springs Inn & Rstrnt

We love the Ellerbe Springs Inn. This was the second time we stayed there for the Smokeout @ the Rock! And we will stay there every year. They have the best service,Super Friendly and the best Hospitality in the world. We love you guys. You gotta try their pulled pork BBQ it is the best in the world. And I cannot forget the breakfast it is the best to. We love both you and your husband and we will be back again again every year for the smokeout @ the rock. Well. The picnic tables surrounding the restaurant needed repair. That should have told us something. I am ever the optimist. We had close to 50 people there for my wife's family reunion. We parked in the back which showed us just how much TLC this place needs. The front porch was nice but the adjoining side porches were unusable. The front doors were in bad need of windex and the carpet in the lobby should have been discarded years ago. Still trying to stay positive. The food was good but the promised dessert never materialized. Nearly 4:00 I thought we should get our stuff into the room we booked two months before. We were given a key and opened the grimey door on guests watching TV. The male owner to the cluttered office at the first sign of conflict and we had to wait for his wife to tell us what was going on. Those guests decided that afternoon to stay another day. We were booted out of the only room with a kingsize bed.. So could I recommend this place for a family reunion...NO. Very unprofessional and not very clean. more

The earlier post about Ellerbe Springs was not quite accurate. They have slowed down their daily meals, but are still open with the same wonderful food on special days. Both the Ellerbe Springs inn and the restaurant are still ""our favorite places in the world"" to go for special, relaxing times. The setting, food, and of course Jim and Donna make it special every time we go. more

I wish I could say Ellerbe Springs Inn & Restaurant is still in business but it isn't. This was my favorite place to go to to get away from the world and enjoy a wonderful meal with my ""someone special"". Donna and Jim Lane are wonderful people and they made you feel like family. Unfortuntely they are victims of our fast paced life styles and were greatly affected with the opening of the new Highway 220 By-Pass. I'm thankful for the creation of this highway but sad to see how it's affected the businesses that benefited for years from their location along this highway. Now that the traffic pattern has been diverted away from Ellerbe Springs Inn & Restaurant, as well as other businesses, they have had to close their doors and we, and they, will never be the same. I know the decision to close their doors and sale their business was a heart wrenching one for Jim and Donna, but the great times we all have shared there through food and conversation will NEVER be forgotten. I wish Donna and Jim, (the best cook/chef in Rockingham County), the very best in all their future endeavors. We love you and we'll miss you more than you'll ever know! Old elegance combined with personal friendly service.\r We have eaten here, both lunch and dinner, several times and enjoyed each time. \r Lunch a flashback to Grandma's specialties. \r Dinner simple and very tasty. \r They always want to know your preferences and try to meet them.
