Ellensburg Pet Ctr

We make the pet store a regular stop on Sunday morning walks. We don't always need something, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and are always great with my extremely inquisitive 6 year old. We do buy all of our toys, pet food and feeder fish there. Buddy (the talking parrot) always make the stop interesting and fun. I would highly recommend buying local and supporting a great store! more

I would just like to comment on my previous encounter with the Ellensburg Pet Center. During the next day, all my fish ended up dieing. We called and went to the Pet Center and were able to get our money back for all of the neon tetras (fish) and 1 out of 2 Clown Loaches (fish). The person i first spoke with was not kind, but the second person was and we came to an agreement to get most of the money back in store credit, I still believe that the fish I bought were sick with Ick. But I am glad that they were reasonable and gave me back store credit, I still believe that it is best not to get live fish (I don't know about other kinds if animals) from them. One last comment, they have many live birds, lizards, and turtles, they have a good dog food and supplies section. They do have a bird that will mimic a cat, I swear I thought it was one. They also have freeze dried and frozen fish food. I believe I am going to try their live plants for my aquarium. more

The Ellensburg pet center is NOT a good place. i purchased some fish from there store and all but one has died, and the last one is dieing as i am writing this. they advised me on how to care for my fish, (I'm kind of new to fish) the fish I got were 7 neon tetras and 2 Clown Loaches. all were living fine until they advised aquarium salt. since the clown loaches are delicate fish when it comes to chemicals, I asked them if I should put half dose of salt in the tank. they said no and I went ahead and put the salt in. Within 24 hours of adding the salt, all of my Neon Tetras died, the last one, the biggest one, held on for 2 hours longer then the rest. The first of the Clown Loaches died 2 days after the neons. I took water samples in and everything was fine. ammonia was good, nitrite was good, and so was the PH. I called the pet store and an instant denial was formed that the aquarium salt could do no harm to any fish, in a matter of fact they said, "You can never overdue the salt," i thought they they might be right so I looked it up on the internet. The first thing I see when I typed in "Neon Tetra Salt" was that the neon tetras will die very fast if you put any salt in the aquariums. The salt i used was non iodized and completely natural. So after reading I called them back up to tell them what i found out, they again denied that the salt could ever harm a fish. What I'm trying to say is do not get anything from the Ellensburg Pet Center, and if you do, and the thing does not work out, they will most likely turn you around and say, (not in these words exact) ' Its your problem now, you bought it, you take care of it, its not our problem.' DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM ELLENSBURG PET!!! more

The Ellensburg Pet Center is pretty much like every other pet store. They are open seven days a week. They sell birds, tropical fish, and small animals such as kittens, bunnies, hamsters, and ferrets. They also carry all you would need to care for a pet. They sell leashes, pet food, fish bowls, and many other pet supplies. The staff is very friendly to everybody. The pet center is a great place to look at animals or buy a pet. more
