My wife and I are Elks members. We visit very many Elks Lodges around the country. The members are always nice. We have been stopping by the Sunnyvale Elks Lodge for many years, going north and then again when we come south. The Lodge members and office workers have always been very nice to us. We pulled in to the Sunnyvale Elks Lodge late one night in September, 2013. We had driven down from the Napa Valley that night. There didn't seem to be anyone around, so we decided to pay for dry camping the next morning. We were awakened by pounding on our door at midnight. The man didn't tell us his name, and had no words of welcome. He said he was the camp host, and we showed him Dean's card. We said we intended to pay in the morning. He seemed drunk and belligerant, and insisted that we pay him right then. I said I didn't feel comfortable paying some guy that said he was the camp host, and we'd pay in the morning. He said we had to pay or he would call the cops. We said we would leave. He stayed outside peeking in our windows. I was not dressed and neither was Dean, and that was not ok with us. 15 seconds later, he said, ""well, are you leaving""? We left (at midnight). I called the next day to complain. The woman in the office said he should never have woken us up at midnight, and she would tell the ER. I asked if we could dump the RV there that day. She said yes, we were welcome to do that. I said I was concerned about running into the camp host. She said the camp host would not be there. We came to dump. We paid the bartender and got the key to the lock. There were a man and a woman watering the garden. They witnessed what happened next. Dean was dumping the RV and a man came up to him. He asked if Dean was an Elks member. Dean said yes. The man demanded to see his card. I got the card and went outside to show him. He said he didn't believe that we had paid to dump. I said how could we have gotten the key if we hadn't. Dean asked if he was the guy from last night. The man said no, he was the assistant camp host, and he had ""heard the story"". He and Dean started yelling at each other. The man and woman came to see what the problem was. The bartender and the woman both vouched for us and said that I had gone in to the bar with money in my hand to pay for the dump. The man said to Dean ""I saw her card, but I didn't see yours"". The man said we were trespassing, and it felt like he would get violent, so I called 911. Dean finished dumping and we left.
