I used to cut my own hair for the last 4 years, and i did a good job at it, I cut it exactly how i wanted it but it wasnt always even. I went in for a "trim" and a clean up.... I told the lady to take about an inch to inch and a half off. She cut about 5 inches off and practically gave me a buzz cut more

I love Elkes!!! they have great stylists!!! Especially Phoenix she is a rockin cool chick who gives her clients what they want, as well as what they need to look their best! more

Although Im always happy with the finished product, everytime I go back the girls critisize what the previous one did, not knowing it was done there. They have said "It looks like someone didn't know what they were doing" or "wow, this is just so uneven". But I NEVER liked my haircuts leaving a salon until I started going to Elkies, so although they might think it not up to par I always enjoy the final outcome. more

When I moved to Eureka, I was recommended Elke's Total Image. Briann is an awesome hairdresser! She did my hair the first time and did a great job. I tried one other lady there who wasn't so great, but I've since been having Briann do my hair, and she always does a fantastic nice. She's also a really nice girl! more

I have hunted everywhere for a stylist that will listen to exactly what I want when it comes to my hair. I have been going to Shannon now for about 6 months and I absolutely love her. Great personality, friendly, caring, and best of all an amazing stylist. The shop is always very clean the staff informative and professional. I prepaid for a few tanning sessions and each time I went in the person at the front counter treated me less than a customer should be treated. I felt uncomfortable, unwelcomed, and not to mention the tannning beds do not look up to par. I do NOT recommend this place whatsoever!, if your looking for a good quality service salon..B&B! much worth it! more

Every time Gehry cuts my hair I am happy with it from the minute he is done. He always does a great job and always does exactly what I ask. I have paid more for haircuts but never gotten one as good as I get here. One thing I really love - even though Elke's carries every haircare product under the sun - they never try to sell me anything. In fact, Gehry gives me a great cut without using ANY product except shampoo. Thus, I prefer to buy my haircare products here! more

I've been having my hair done at Elke's since I moved from Fortuna. I usually have Brianne cut and color my hair, but a couple of the other ladies have done it when I really needed to get in last minute and did so with flying colors! I would highly recommend them to any and all of my friends! more

While I did not trust this place to touch my hair, I thought their tanning services would at least be decent. WRONG! First off, they do not wipe down the beds in between session. Instead, they give you 1 paper towel and tell you, the customer, to do it yourself. As well, the eye shields are passed from one user to the next with no disinfectant process in between users. I'm sorry, but I don't want the sweat and eye makeup of hundreds of other people on my face! Next, I wanted to try a sample tanning lotion without buying a $30 bottle. I was handed a basket full of little packets, all of which the manufacturer had printed "Free Trial" on the front. Then you turn the packets over and see Elke's price tag of $5.99 each. Unbelievable! I wasn't expecting the sample to be free, but come on. Not only is that exorbitantly over-priced, but a bit tacky when they let everyone know they enjoy 100% markup. Finally, I felt cheated when the girl told me, "the new bed isn't available so you'll be in the old bed." Despite her efforts to assure me that the old beds work just fine, I was again let down when I entered the tanning room only to find a For Sale sign for the bed. CLASSLESS!!! I will never give these people my business again! more

I went once and, while the cut was okay, the service of the person who "cared" for me was terrible. He was on the phone more than he was cutting my hair. After a couple of years and more bad hair-so tough finding good hair people-I went back, as 2 cousins and my sister go there, and suggested I try another person. I got lucky and now I travel from the Sacramento area to get my hair cut. more

Horrible customer service. They wouldn't give a refund for a bad color, which I totally understand. BUT, they also refused to re-do it. I've never heard of a salon that doesn't want their customers happy. I would tell anyone to stay away from them. A salon that doesn't care about the quality of their work or how their customer feels when they leave should be avoided. more

Inside the store there is a wide variety of hair and beauty products. The staff is wonderful. Very knowledgeable and helpful. It's a very clean well run business. Everyone has their state license's posted so there is no need to wonder if your getting good quality help. The one thing that I really don't like about this store is it's location. It's located near places that I'd prefer to not go. So I only go to Elkes when I have to. more
