I read all of the reviews and was skeptical of this salon but its great. They are under new management, owned by Premier Salons and not Red Door anymore. Yes, it needs a little updating but overall the staff is great. I had a facial from Cori which was out of this world, a manicure/pedicure from Michelle with extra TLC and finally a fantastic haircut by Julian. He has great experience with curly hair which is hard to find. All staff were very friendly and courteous and the atmosphere was relaxing in the Spa and upbeat in the Salon. I would recommend giving this salon another try! Pros: Great staff, great service Cons: Needs updating more

just moved from chicago to philly for school at nova, and i picked this salon because of the great reviews on city search. but i gotta say, it was SO BAD! first, the salon is inside saks 5th ave on city ave and the sales people are so rude and stuck up, they make you feel really unwelcomed really fast. the salon is a total dump. dark, nasty, unclean. the girl at the front desk was so rude. she ignored me when i walked in and sat on the phone for about five minutes before she even noticed me. i told her my name and she pointed to a closet for me to get my own apron and told me to go find my stylist in the back. so rude. i waited about 45 minutes for my stylist to start working with me. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON THERE! i waited forever to see a stylist but there were no other customers or stylists around. that didnt make sense to me. i went back to the receptionist to ask where my stylist was, and she said she didn't know and that i should just keep waiting for her. what was this girl's problem? i'm the only customer in the salon, and you'd think she'd offer me a glass of water or SOMETHING my stylist finally shows up with a bag from mcdonald's. i made my appointment the week before, so why did the stylist think my appointment time was the prefect chance for a lunch break? the stylist was nice though. once she started working with me, she was really friendly. but niceness doesn't make her crappy cut any better. i've had much better in chicago. she cut about two inches off my hair. she jacked up my layers. and she gave me 1987 bangs. GROSS when i went to pay, the rude girl at the desk charged me $115... the services menu said that the haircuts were $68. when i asked why the price was so different from the menu, the rude girl said my stylist was a "master stylist" and had the right to charge so high. RIP OFF this salon was the worst. it's dirty, the people are nasty, and the services are poor and overpriced. AVOID THAT DUMP! ABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS!! As a wedding planner, I was on the hunt for a new place to refer my clients. I had the best experience recently at the RED DOOR. First of all JULIE HAWK did my eyelash extensions, what an amazing transformation...but WAIT, she then tweezed and sculpted my brows to perfection and believe me, I am one tough (picky) customer, I was more than pleased. Then off to DEBI for a manicure....she's my new manicurist. Not only is she professional and sweet, but she is gentle and calming. The new Elizabeth Arden colors are fabulous and are liken to popular OPI and essie colors and lasts a long time. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED!!!! I'll be sending my wedding parties here. more

Strange for a dude to rate a "spa" but I got into a little spat with my girlfreind & knew flowers would not work this time. I decided to get her a "day of beauty" and found the red door....She had a great experience, they got her lunch and she had the works, from head to toe. I had been going to the same salon for a number of years and was tired of the stylist (although a very nice person) just doing what he wanted and not listening to me. Andre at the red door was recommended. I went with a little trepidation but was so delighted with the result I could not stop looking in the mirror. I finially found someone that can cut some hair. I have been traveling back and forth to NY and it's to much. I was shopping one day in Saks and ran across the salon. I had no idea their even was one in Saks. Anyway to make things short I then met Andre' DeLuca what a amazing Artist, his beyond a hairstylist. He gave me the best haircut I have ever had. He took the time to explain what he was going to do, and he showed me tricks on how to limit my time blowdrying it in the morning along with the products I must use and how simple it can be to achieve this style along with many others. My sister gave me a gift certificate and I went to the spa for a couple of different services. I thought I might be greeted with aloofness (Saks image) but was presently suprised at the freidliness of the staff. I had a massage that made me feel like I was walking on air ! No kidding...and a facial that was the best I have ever had and what can I say about Michelle the manicurist who gave me the best pedicure..I really felt pampered...I shall most certainly be returning....... What a great experience...I had been recommended to the spa but did not know who to go for hair. I found ANDRE... he gave me exactly what I wanted...did not cut too must off the length gave me the best best color with subtle highlights. Ill be there on a regular basis from now on.
