Elite Chimney Restoration

Just had Elite Chimney over at my house to try to correct a draft problem I have had since I bought ky house 3 years ago. I have had 3 other companies try to get it fgured out and all I did was waste my time and money. \r \r My neighbor had Elite do some work recently and was very happy with them, so I figured I'd give them a shot.\r They came on time as promised and their tech was really knowledgeable. I recently had Elite Chimney rebuild my chimney and reline my fireplace flue. I was 100% satisfied with them every step of the way. \r \r From the initial phone call to their office, to the tech (certified by the Chimney Safetly Institute of America) who came to my home to examine my chimney, to the way the the estimate which was sent to me was typed up and included details of their findings as well as pictures illustrating their findings, all the way thru the scheduling and actual repair itself. \r \r I was really thrilled with Elite Chimney. They were on time, neat and did a great job. The owner came by a few times to check on the crew too and make sure all was going well. A few of my neighbors had used them and recommended them to me. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good and honest chimney contractor. more

My water heater flue was taking in smoke from my fireplace flue which are next to each other and filling my basement with smoke. I was told i needed a new water heater flue and new cap on top of the chimney so the water heater flue would not pull in the smoke. After spending well over $1,000 the problem still exists and i cant burn wood in my fireplace. This is not a professional company and would never recommend \r them to any one. They have know idea what they are doing and should not be permitted to carry a license. Pros: work staff was polite Cons: owner has no idea what he is doing he did the estimate more

Elite Chimney correctly recommended that I have may chimney rebuilt. The Elite crew arrived on time, but that's the only thing they did right. On their first attempt they tore down and rebuilt the chimney and rushed to finish to avoid rain. The concret cap was full of holes. On their second attempt, the crew tore down part of their first attempt and rebuilt the chimney but left large gaps in the mortar. I wrote the owner (included photographs) and requested a $600 refund so I could hire someone to finish the job right. The owner showed up unannounced and was intercepted by my wife while climbing a ladder. He said he would fix the mortar, which he did, but the color did not match. Elite did not replace the flashing so my roof still leaks, but I'm not allowing this outfit near my house again.
