Do not take your vehicle to this shop, for any reason -- smog or otherwise. These rodents claimed to have replaced my fuel pump, charging me parts and labor. I picked up the truck, but it died on my drive home (less than 3 miles away). So I took it back and asked them to FIX it this time, maybe even take it for a test drive before calling me to say that it was fixed. They called me back and said my carburetor was bad -- but it was brand new. So I took it to Carberator Bob and he said that I had BAD GASOLINE in my tank! Late last night, my neighbor and I dropped the fuel tank and found that the fuel pump was not new at all. I called Ken, shop owner of Oceanside Auto Service #2, this morning, and he said that I was a liar and that I was calling him a croook (mispelled on purpose). At the time I spoke with him, I was merely trying to resolve the problem in an adult manner. But after hanging up the phone, nothing had been resolved. I spent nearly $1000 there over a week's time, and my truck is still not repaired. My only recourse now is to warn others NOT TO TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SO-CALLED MECHANIC!
Cons: Yes, they are cons: con artists who can't fix an engine. I wouldn't even take my vehicle there for a smog check. Do not trust them.
