Seafood taste like what I would get for a third of the price in Banner Elk. Pros: Friendly waitstaff looks over water Cons: price

This used to be our favorite place 8/18/2010

We used to love going to Elijah's and have taken many friends there over the years. Recently we had family visiting from out of town and told them about this great place we were going to take them that was on the waterfront. What a disappointment. The food has changed so much. Fish and chips were actually little round balls of fish. Never have I seen fish and chips like that. Couldn't even finish them. We used to love the olive bread as an appetizer. It is now all bread, very little olives and cheese. Several people at the table did not finish their meals. I am going to miss the old Elijah's. We visit Wilmington about 6 times per year and have always chosen Elijah's as our dining spot. After our last experience we won't be going back. In all fairness, the atmosphere is still very beautiful. Please Elijah's, can't you go back to the great food you used to serve???? more

Elijah's - Great for lunch 1/6/2009

Elijah's is where my husband and I go for special dates. The dinner menu is very pricy, but the lunch menu is much more reasonable. The food is always great and the service is excellent. Eating outside and enjoying the views of the Cape Fear River are the best part...and parking has never been a problem for us at lunchtime. more

Great view and good food 3/29/2008

Elijah's offers a great view of the Cape Fear River and outdoor seating is available. The food is good and not too expensive. Service is also good. You may have to walk a block or two if downtown Wilmington is busy as parking is limited. Yummy desserts! more

Next to the water... 5/29/2007

This rest was very cool. Right down next to the water. The wait to be seated wasn't too bad either. When we arrived they told us it would be close to 45 minutes (it was a holiday weekend, so we figured in a wait). My wife and I then decided to take a quick walk up the waterfront and arrived back 20 minutes later. To our surprise, they were ready to seat us upon our return. The food was good and atmoshere was very relaxing. I'd recommend this rest to families and couples as well. Pros: Ambience, great area down near the water. Cons: The food was good but not the best seafood ever. more

Great Location 9/18/2006

Good place to have drinks and people watch. The food is ok and the servers like to rush you. As a local, not my favorite place but its a good place to sit outside and enjoy the view. more

Service was good, the food was not up to par for the price 7/14/2006

I was with a large party with a special menu so my choices were limited, but the food still should have been decent. I had heard about how good the crab dip was, so I put it on my tab and all you could taste was mayonnaise mixed with very little crab. The entree was edible, but I have had better luck with frozen dinners. On a positive note, the service was great, the food was out in a very short time, the drinks kept coming, and paying out our separate drink tabs could not have been faster. I would like to go back due to the great atmosphere and give it another shot ordering from the full menu. Pros: Service, Ambience Cons: Mediocre food more

Unbelievable 11/22/2005

I have gone to this resturaunt many times and there was never a time I had something that I didn't like. You can eat in the gorgeous dining room or you can eat right on the water of the Cape Fear. The best dish I ahd here was a seafood alfredo that was offered one night as a special. They need to make this part of their dinner menu. Located in beautiful downtown you can go shopping and then have a great lunch or sit and have a great dinner. The prices are good and the food is out of this world. Just wait until desert when they bring out the desert tray and you want one of everything. The Kiy lime pie is to die for. Parking isn't the best but then again downtown parking isn't great anywhere. Professional staff PROS: Great location, food, great prices, professional staff CONS: parking but then again all downtown parking stinks more

Grand Raves 3/23/2004

I can truly say that Elijahs is one, if not the best of the best. Service was impeccable and the food was out of this world. We had fried calamari (cooked to perfection). I had chicken salad, which four of us could have enjoyed and had some left over. The ambiance was great, inside and out. I absolutely love this place. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 12. My friends were right. You won't be disappointed. Pros: great food, great service, great ambiance more
