HardDriv Review is Nonsense Sanctuary is Great 6/26/2006

I have eaten at Sanctuary at least ten times and the food and service are always impeccable. If HardDriv is the guy I think he is, he not only lit up the cigar in the middle of dinner, but when asked to extinguish it, he snuffed it out on the table! He was so bombed his date had left him and he did not realize it for at least 30 minutes! Pros: Food and Service Cons: Cigar Smokers/Cigarette Smokers more

Phenomenal views, excellent food 5/29/2006

First, the guy who is upset because he got busted for lighting up a cigar in this place must have an interesting view of the world. This restaurant is open air and is connected to the hotel lobby, the bar, etc. Smoking a cigar here would immediately polute them all. I'm a cigar smoker, but I would ask first always, especially in this type of enviornment. The food was excellent, the panoramic view is as advertised. Phenomenal wine list including many wines by the glass (Cakebread Cellars Chardonay) that you don't generally see served by the glass. The huge surprise for us was how kid friendly this place was. I noted that we needed a high chair in our reservation and it was ready along with crayons and an ""activty book"" when we arrived. Not at all what I was expecting given the venue. Pros: Wine list, Food, View Cons: Service a bit slow more

Great Dinner Ruined By Rude Manager! 5/10/2006

We let ""Iron Chef"" Beau MacMillan cook whatever he liked for us yesterday evening and he created magic on a plate. From the Beef Tartare & Cassava Chip Napolean to the Asian inspired Escargot, it was one amazing plate after another. The dining room is well appointed and our table was perfect. Unfortunately a very rude manager ruined the evening for us by losing his cool and letting his position go to his head. We had a simple misunderstanding regarding the restaraunt's cigar policy. The cigar was immediately extinguised at the manager's request (it was not even fully lit yet), but evidently that was not enough. After spending $400 on dinner for two, I would have expected to be treated with a little more maturity from this egomaniac. I am very dissapointed that one person was able to so thoroughly destroy what was an otherwise a very pleasant evening. Pros: Amazing Food, Great Chef, Nice View Cons: Rude Manager more

Breathtaking 11/15/2002

I have now visited Elements three times and I have to say that is the most spectacular dining ever! The views are beautiful, the food remarkable, and the service impeccable. I highly suggest getting one of the spa suites which face Mummy Mountain inviting a few intimate friends over for wine, watching the sunset from your private balcony and then taking the short walk through the zen like grounds through the Jade bar to a perfect dinner. more

really amazing 10/21/2002

elements is the perfect spot to take a date to sip a couple drinks over conversation and watch the sunset (the north walls are floor-to-ceiling glass). the decor is simplistic and chic, the appetizers original and gourmet, and the bar has a very good selection of wines. it's a little pricey, but not unfair and definitely worth it for the atmosphere you're being provided. NOT a scene, more of a secluded spot that hasn't been discovered by most phoenicians as of yet, probably because it is a little out of the way/ in an unusual area. Pros: not crowded, unbeatable view Cons: a little pricey more
