Today I went in and had a serviceman look at a small tiller I couldn't get to work. He pulled the cord a few times, told me it was the carburetor, and said he'd charge me $60-$70 to fix it. I went home, googled around a little, and found that there's a carb adjustment I could make, as well as removing the spark plug in case the engine was flooded. 10 minutes later the tiller was working. This is exactly the kind of place you would hope to find a friendly, local business person--and instead find someone who couldn't be bothered with helping you.
