my friend recommended me to get my hair done by an awesome hairstylist and colorist. Her name is Svetlana. She is an awesome lady, very professional and knew exactly what I needed. She chose the hair cut style for me and recommended me to change my hair color. I got out of that place as a completely different person...I loved it, my friends loved it too and I've got so many compliments from friends and family. Pros: best hairstylist in town!!! more

I went in for a deep tissue massage and it was absolutely fabulous. I came in with a lot of pain and it went away the next day thanks to Leo! I also had a facial by Marina and it was amazing. My skin felt like new and I was recommended products to keep my skin healthy that they sell right in the salon. I was astonished at how good they make my skin feel. With todays economy, the prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be returning. Pros: great massages, facials and prices Cons: none more

The first time I went here, i got my hair done. I am very particular about my hair and have been to multiple salons before, Elan Salon was the bestt! I got a haircut and highlights. She knew exactly what to do in order for it to suit me. The cut was perfect! The color was perfect! I've been getting so many compliments ever since. While I was waiting for the color to penetrate, the staff offered me coffee/tea, cookies, everybody was just so polite. The next time I came here for a facial. It was the most relaxed I had been in weeks. It was such a calm and relaxing atmosphere, and Marina did such a good job. She was very professional and left my skin flawless after a few visits. She recommended I use the Guinot product line, and picked out exactly what I needed. I'm usually allergic but this didn't give me any bad reactions and was natural. They even sell this line right in the salon, which was very convenient. Overall, this salon is highly professional and offers a lot of great services. This is the best salon in Park Slope. I have been going to Elan for a decade - all of their hair cutters are great. I especially recommend Zina and Andrew. The massage people can be hit or miss, but Gulya is very good. The front desk people are very courteous and professional. more

I should have known by the hair of the stylist who greeted me when I arrived (and had been scheduled to cut my hair) that gettting a hair cut at this place was a mistake. She had streaky, yellow highlights in dark hair in a dirty, frizzy pony tail. And what I walked out with was not much better. Horrible, streaky highlights and the ugliest hair cut I have ever received. she promised to fix it if I came back later in the week and that;s when she ruined the last of what was once my nice, long hair, and then wanted to charge me for that. Don't ever go here. My friend also got a facial that made her face look like it had been run over by a truck. more

I just moved to Brooklyn a few months ago and haven't been waxed since. I was in desperate need. I saw Natasha who gave me one of the best overall waxes I have ever had. SInce I hadn't been waxed in awhile I was expecting it to hurt like hell but it barley hurt at all. She was very gentle and thorough and talked to me the whole time to get my mind off the pain. I've had many before at many other places but this was way too light and I felt just as tense leaving as I did walking in, only $70 poorer. With so much competition in the neighborhood, I'd think they'd try a little harder to keep repeat customers. more
