Elan is a great discovery for me. The staff is really helpful and really warm and answered all of my questions. True professionals. I recently had my hair colored and cut by Tara and would definitely go back to her again. She also did a good job with my blow out. I would recommend getting the keratine treatment...my hair is just so smooth now!! \r \r bonus points for serving coffee and cookies. more

Elan Hair Salon and Spa is very nice 11/13/2009

I forget why i stopped going here. Oh yeah, this girl made my hair too dark . I would consider going back to Mariana, I really liked her. It's a nice salon in ridgewood and not too expensive like so many others are. more

Love this place! 9/30/2009

Wow! This place has had a much needed make-over! The new owners are on top of their game. Tracy is the best for waxing eyebrows, her prices are a bit higher, but she was trained by Anastasia (ehhh hemm Nordstroms) and it's worth the extra money. Karen and Marijana are excellent hair stylist. Stefania is great for facials. You pay for what you get! Highly recommend this salon, not pretentious at all, it's warm and cozy, you will feel right at home. Cons: Upstairs more

Feeling like a million bucks! 5/28/2009

I just walked out of this salon, and I can't even tell you how many heads turned as I was walking around the downtown area. My hair looks absolutely amazing. They provide great customer service and have a very welcoming atmosphere. Had my hair cut and highlighted by Mariyanna and she did an outstanding job. She listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered superb results. I would definitely recommend this salon! more

The place really lived up to my expectations. I was very happy with the style and color my hairstylist suggested for me. The salon is very clean, up to date, and the staff are all very accomodating. I will definitely come back and would highly recommend this place to my friends. more

Outstanding!! 4/25/2008

It definitely is my new place. I have been to many salons and have difficulty being satisfied. I found my place in Elan.. my color my cut..love it!! It is out of my way..but well worth the trip for the type of service they provide. The setting is eloquent and so are the colorists and stylists, new owners.. Thoroughly satisfied with Mitchell's choice of color for me. I recommend Elan Salon to anyone. Great atmosphere..great service..great all around. My time is well spent and there is no feeling like walking out happy, relaxed with great color and style. more

Superb Customer Service! 4/23/2008

They made me feel welcome at the salon. Stephanie did a mini-consultation to find out what look I was going for and then made her recommendations. I was very happy with the outcome. In fact, I have already recommended the salon to my friends. They, too, were greatly satisfied. You could tell that the stylists and colorists are up to date on the latest cutting and coloring techniques. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and classy. I like the decor. The new owners did a great job. Certainly an upgrade! The place is clean, orderly, and well-maintained. The prices are reasonable for the level of service and technology they provide. Coffee, tea, cheesecake and cookies are served. Superb customer service! more

I don't trust anyone else 1/20/2008

I have been going to Elan for almost 20 years. My daughters and I won't trust anyone else to cut our hair. Prices are closer to NYC prices but it is worth it to me to have a really good haircut. My husband tried to go somewhere else once to save money and regretted it. more

Superb hair cuts 1/20/2008

I have been getting my hair cut at Elan since I was about five years old. They are like a family to me and their clients. Ron, the previous owner, always cut my hair and I do not trust anyone else (in the world) with my hair cuts. I have had an updo done there by another stylist and she was fantastic as well. The salon is very clean and has complimentary coffee, cookies, and there is a soda machine there. Ron's wife Connie is fantastic and always greets you with a smile. The excellent service comes with the price of its location in Westwood. A woman's haircut without a blow dry is $45 but it is worth it. I have never been unsatisfied with their service or haircuts. \r It is now under new management but Ron and Connie are sticking around to ensure the transfer goes smoothly and that Elan does not change in its quality. more
