I normally use three dishes to judge a Mexican restaurant: the barrito, the taco, and fajitas. The last couple of times I visited El Vaquero the barrito was so covered in burnt sauce that I couldn't taste anything else and the tacos were unseasoned and overcompensated with cheese. The fajitas were good, but uninspired. The margaritas are all made with mixes, which I expect for frozen...but all ""on the rocks"" margaritas should be hand mixed. Over all, this is just another ""mexican"" restaurant.
Pros: Outside seating, friendly wait staff, great decor
Cons: Subpar food
