Kick Ass 6/23/2010

We were in Denver for the Brewer game. Go Brew Crew!!!! My friend and I let the ladies sleep in and went for a walk. Well we were not expecting to find this place. we got there at about 10 a.m. and didn't leave. pissed off the ladies, they left us there so we had to stay another night. They flew back to Wisconsin, we stayed. Now ther really pissed. the music was fantastic!!! We meet a bunch of Cool and Crazy Cats. The jazz band that night rocked the house!!! All I can say GO! GO! Eat some food, talk to some cool cats Charlie and Terry. This is your hometown bar with big city benifets. Peace Out! Arnie -Sheboygan, Wisconsin Pros: Great People, Great Food, Great Music. Cons: Nothing!!!!! more

REAL Jazz! 7/22/2003

It may be small, it may be crowded, it may be smokey, BUT, there is no better place to find the absolute best jazz in Denver ANY night! The house bands are cool jazz at its best. The guest bands are icing on the cake! Pros: Best Jazz anywhere more

Best Jazz Bar 10/13/2002

Definately, one of the best jazz places overall. It's a small bar but the best jazz music lies there. Never a dull night. It's a cool vibe inside because everyone is there for the music not only to get smashed. You'll see guys in jeans and women in fur! It's just a cool hangout...I miss it! I live in Phoenix now with no jazz scece... more

Jerk Bartender 5/23/2002

I was in El Chapultepec on Wednesday May 22 and the bartender was so rude. He was very upset that my boyfriend was ordering a water (He was the designated driver!) The music was great and I got to talk to the drummer for a while at the bar. I have enjoyed every other time I've gone so hopefully he was just having a bad night (really bad night). more

Editorial
  • In Short
Since its opening in 1951, Sinatra, Bennett and Fitzgerald have worked up a sweat in this venerable rumpus room. A host of rock and rollers, including McCartney, Jagger and Richards, have played here, too. The sound can be harsh near the stage, but the blare is eased in the side-stage nook. The house serves basic Mexican fare, dished up in a tiny snack and billiards room. Some rave about the incendiary green chili.
