El Taurino has progressivly gotten better since it opened a year or so ago, not that it was ever bad, they have just smoothed some rough edges since my first visit. El Taurino is north of Lufkin and is outside of the normal restaraunt area found on Timberland Dr. and South First Street. El Taurino is worth the drive to the north side a little bit outside the city limits of Lufkin. I enjoy their extensive menu. Well cooked well seasoned TexMex. Their salsa is served warm which is a plus in my book. There are two or three times a week when they offer $1 margaritas and they are far beyond what I expected for a dollar. El Taruino is gradually becoming the TexMex resaurant of choice for the people on the north side of town. All items are good. I enjoy anything with the borracha beans as a side. They do an exceptional job with fajitas and carne asada type meat dishes as well as the shrimp prepared butterflied and on the grill with the carne asda or fajitas.
Pros: Great Consistant Food and Great Prices
Cons: Gets Loud After Little Leage Baseball games and is a little out of town
