El Segundo Bakery

I ordered cookies and a chocolate cake and it was despicable. The cookies were stale and the cake tasted like cardboard. I don't know what type of ingredients they use, but I can get better from Duncan Hines. They don't run a good bakery at all. Debbie more

Never again will our business use this bakery for birthday cakes. The cake was not what we ordered, and it was dry, dry, dry. Too bad, this used to be a good bakery. more

This bakery was outstanding under the former ownership. Sadly, that era is gone and the new owners just don't seem to have the experience and customer service. The cake I ordered had a very crooked scanned picture and the lettering was different sizes and crammed at the end, not to mention off center. The cake itself was overbaked. This bakery is a nightmare! It must be under new management/ownership since the previous reviews. The cake I ordered was completely WRONG!! - Wrong size, wrong shape, wrong color, wrong flavor, wrong frosting. I would not have even taken the thing if I had not had 25 guests waiting. Then they charged me double what they quoted me (because they made it twice the size I ordered), and the thing was INEDIBLE! It tasted like it had been left out for 2 weeks. When we called the next day to complain the manager was RUDE and OBNOXIOUS, and said that we made the mistake, that we didn't know what we ordered!! I have a picture of the cake that I ordered with specifications in my own handwriting, and this guy telling me that I don't know what I ordered! He argued with us for almost an hour! I don't even give them 1 star. NEVER GO TO THIS BAKERY!!!!! more

Too good to be true. Unbeleivable quality of taste, smell and final touches. The cakes are superb and the art work amazing. The baked goods you can smell'm from a blocks away. The ppl are wonderful and efficient. I didnt celebrate my39th monts ago, so am now ordering my bday cake for a long awaited bday party for tomorrow, i called bakery last min. 10 til closing and they said they will make it have it ready by morning. WOW how cool, the funny thing is my bday was in march. My friends wanna celebrate anyway...and wanted to bring me a cake...I said "NOOO I'l order the cake man...I go no place else" (you wanna get the job done you gotta do-it-yourself. :). For my 21st bday the bakery made me a cake that was unforgettable. You know how the info on your driver's lic. says NOT 21 TIL 1985 (lame) The cake decorator/artist drew an exact replica of my drivers license alll over my cake (it was perfect so coool) and the date on it said NOT 21 til NNOOWW!!! This bakery in downtown El Segundo right off of Main street is a good place to find fresh pastries. The store is small, but the selection is good. The cakes are made to order as well as some are ready made. They also serve coffee and drinks to supplement your meals. The prices are average. The people who work there are very friendly. more
