Great Mexican food! 8/4/2010

The carnitas soft tacos are the best, as are the homemade tortillas! In fact, there is little served by El Ranchito that I don't like! I have to give 4 stars only because the service hasn't been good the last few times I've been there. more

Two words - potato tacos 7/23/2008

I just ate dinner here and it was great! We had the potato tacos (mine with no cheese, his with) and they were delicious. Very reasonable prices for the amount of food that you get. The salsa is great too. Friendly staff, easy to get to, lots of parking. more

Not what I thought 7/23/2008

A few people told me that this was the El Ranchito to go to. My boyfriend got a burrito and I got the huevos rancheros. It was a big runny mess on my plate. My boyfriend and I didn't feel very well for the next few days, if you know what I mean. I won't be back. more

If you have never been you should go 7/22/2008

I have been to two locations and its always the best. I love the chicken burritos with the Verde Sauce. Margaretta's are great too, and some locations have live music. more

Good Margaritas 4/30/2008

The margaritas are good; they are made nice and strong. It is great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon, just make sure you are not the designated driver. The service is good, the servers keep on bringing you chips. more

Best tacos and salsa 11/8/2006

I love this mexican place. They have great food, I really love there tacos. Friday nights you might have to wait to be seated. Don't make the mistake of going to any other of there locations, It's not the same food. more

tough to find genuine mexican down in the oc, but this place comes close. i had and recommend the carne asada and ahi tacos. the salsa is a bit marginal - need to add some tomatoes kids! i am sure this place rocks for happy hour - margs was everyone! clearly best feature is the red-white-green painted parking stalls! i will come back again! Pros: red-grn-wh. pk stalls, carne asada, beans with cheese Cons: salsa, chips, cabbage more

The best...... 5/14/2004

My wife is Mexican and her family is very discriminating when it comes to good Mexican food. I assume that all Avila El Ranchito restaurants have the same quality food but I am speaking on behalf of the Costa Mesa location. It is GREAT. The service is friendly (even to gringos like myself), the food is XLNT, the Margaritas are great, and almost too reasonably priced!! Pros: The food, The service, The Margaritas more
