Food tastes great 11/21/2011

Very authentic Mexican tasting food. Love the refried beans and rice. The chicken tacos and tamales are the best! I take my family here for special occassions. Been coming here for 25 years and have always been treated with respect and kindness from the staff. Only one wrong order in 25 years and they corrected the problem without question. more

Great Family Atmosphere! 8/7/2008

The last person that did the review seemed as if they have something personal against the owner.....\r Could that be that the person was an x employee? Let me think,It doesnt take a genious to see that this person probably worked for the company and got fired,What does that say about the person. Maybe that person is not someone that could be trusted or beleived in...What im saying is,good employees, hard working people and reliable, honest people are not likely to get fired! I've been a customer for over 10 years & had my retirement celebration @ Queso Grande, it was a very pleasant experience. The servers where very attentive. The management was always present to assure everything was running smoothly. My retirement celebration was perfect. Per the comment pertaining to the owner,Its always pleasant to see an owner that takes care of their business, who greets customers and makes sure they are being served properly....Like I've said I've been a regular customer for over 10 years,If what the other person said was true i would not be a customer @ El Queso Grande any longer...... What I also noticed is that the person who wrote the review has no real info not even on profile what are they hiding? hope this helps! Pros: attentive, friendly & clean Cons: very bussy on friday evening more

This restaurant is a joke 5/5/2008

First off, the owner is a money hungry a-hole! He sits in the banquet room from 5:30pm-7pm everyday. You can always over-hear him saying rude things about the guests. The managers and supervisor are very unproffesional and lack experience. They are actually hired for their lack of experience because the owner does not want to pay someone more money for the right qualifications. Most employees are illegal immigrants who are paid minumum wage, even after working for 15 years!!! The 'Chef' gets paid 9.50. That's ridiculous. But he can not complain. \r The waiters use their bare hands to serve a salad plate. They are not allowed to Void mistakes on receipts. They must pay out-of-pocket so they will not be accused of stealing. The cooks are always drunk and under the influence of illegal substances while on the job. This can also be witnessed in the parking lot late at night on weekends. If a customer is unsatisfied with their food, they are forced to pay in some way for their order. If not, the waiter must paid. The refuse to give anything away. If they do, they make it up by charging it on another customer. You will notice this when they give you a hand written recept instead of a computer printed one.\r If you sit by the kitchen, you can hear the sexual harrassment that the female workers are subjected to by the kitchen staff. The owner will sometimes steal the waiters tips during banquet events. Also during banquet events, they charge your party a $150 security fee. FIGHT THAT FEE! That security guard is paid seprately to be there anyway for the bar on Karaoke nights. His attention is not focused on your party at all. The owner makes an employee reserve the first closest parking spot to the restaurant so when the owner comes to the restaurant the employee can move their car so he can park there. \r This restaurant is an unfair place to work and eat. Some of us have to learn the hard way. If I can help 1 person not get ripped off, or get treated unfairly, my job is done. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! HIDDEN COSTS!!! 11/5/2007

After asking the price of an item I wanted, they not only charged me more than what they said, they also charged extra for the two items that were to come with the original dish. When bringing it up to the manager, he discounted a dollar (should have been 5 to make it right). They think they can get your order wrong then add charges to your bill. All 6 restaurants owned by same man and this manager lied to me and told me ""all dfferent restaurants and not related to one another"" Also wouldn't return to finalize problem. Sent the waiter back out wth his sob story about how they make the waiters pay for the higher charges that the customers get stuck with if customer refuses to pay. I hope someone takes them to small claims court soon. It's disgusting how they treat their customers. Food not tasty enough to return back to. I didn't even rant about how long we had to wait BECAUSE the order was wrong also. Also called each restaurant for price of what I got. Each restaurant came up with their own price. Something very fishy. Asked for Main Number ans seating hostess gave me fax number. The real office number is 818.365. 1962 if you also have a complaint. Ask for Perry the owner. more
