Best Mexican Restaurant in Kansas City/Grandview 4/16/2010

I'm of hispanic decent and have tried many different mexican restaurants around here. A lot of them are fake americanized mexican food (except for Dos de Oros) but El Maguey is the real deal. Super authentic food, great service, friendly staff, and extremely affordable. I love going back to El Maguey and always have a good experience. more

Not Impressed 3/28/2006

I myself was not impressed with the food. It was bland and did not have that authentic flavor to me. The restaurant was clean and the service was mediocre. A number of staff was just sitting around in a group shooting the breeze. I was not very impressed with the chips either. more

El Maguey in Grandview ! A+ 10/10/2005

I went here for my birthday last month, and I have to say the food is excellent, I even got free fried ice cream for dessert and a birthday song, sung in Spanish. The atmosphere was alright, and they even have great happy hour specials, I believe we got an 16 oz beer for $1.25, not bad for a restaurant. If you need a coupon they are in the back of the Yellow pages or Feist. more
