I went on New Year's Day with a tinge of ambivalence based on some of the reviews I read about this place. But I wanted to treat my parents to something new and so we went. I definitely would say it was worth it. I ordered the Pollo a la Maria and it was the among the best grilled chicken breast I've had, well marinated with a great spice profile. We requested a booth so we waited a while and in the interim we got top shelf Margaritas. They were excellent; they come in a small glass and cost $8 but they pack a punch. The chips are good, the salsa is what you would call organic and if you like salsas that emphasize the tomato then you will definitely like it. I didn't like he tortilla soup, it was a disappointment (I agree with what another reviewer said). I've known about this place for years, but I remember hearing about a bad health review perhaps years ago. The bathroom is kind of dingy and the lay out of the restaurant is a little awkward. But by the end of the evening I definitely say this place earned an A- from my table. I'm going to add this list to my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants which includes La Jacala, La Fogata, and Panchitos (on McCullough).
Pros: Chips/Salsa, Original Approach to Standard Fare
Cons: Bathrooms dingy, layout tad awkward and crowded
