their portions have never been huge, they started out with the same portions and still have the same ones.. ya know when portion werent supersized meals? its not an all you can eat buffet, its not taco bell. its an original authentic restaurant that i have personally been going to since before i can remember. The service is not so great, because they arent a corporate restaurant, they arent forced to be nice to rude or disrespectful people, if you are nice to them, they will do the same. Sure their salsa has changed a bit, but its still great. its not meant to blow you away, just to get a good meal.i recommend shredded beef burritos, cheese quessidillas, or the chilerellenos Pros: great food Cons: salsa changed a little more

Love it! 5/4/2009

I have been eating here since I was little, love it! I love the mild salsa, and always get the cheese enchiladas! Have tried a few others but this is my favorite! Very good and decently priced. Service has never been great but last time I was there it was better. Pros: Love the salsa! Cons: Service not so great more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! 12/28/2008

Worst dining experience EVER!!! I wouldn't even give this place one star if I didn't have to. I ordered Nachos Supremas, thinking this was a safe bet. You can imagine my surprise when I finally received my meal, only to find 8....yes EIGHT, I counted.... nacho chips on a plate, with a thin smear of ice cold beans, topped with sparse lettuce, about 5 whole mini shreds of cheese, and a bit of tomato and guac. I almost bursted out laughing when I saw my plate. This small portion was inedible - completely inedible. And my b/f was charged 12 dollars for a pint sized chimichanga. I'm never going back to this place. EVER!!!!! I had a free coupon for dinner, and let me tell you, it wasn't even worth it. Cons: Everything more

Old World Flavors. Best Guacamole Anywhere. Fish Dishes. 12/17/2006

I visited El Charro in downtown North Royalton and was pleased to find a large selection of seafood items as a part of their menu. I was told by the manager, John, that they have added many new items to their menu, which was not yet printed. These include more old world recipes, as well as popular items like Baja style fish tacos, which I am told use Tilapia fish. Had the new menu been printed before I arrived, I might have missed the Grilled Bass Burrito I ordered. It was filled with healthy chunks of bass in a tastey cream sauce and served with rice and beans. I will be back to order this one again and again, after I try their fish tacos. Pros: Perfect Guacamole - Fish Tacos and Burritos - Weekday Specials Cons: A Bit Out of the Way Location (North Royalton) - Interior still a bit dated more

Very poor excuse for Mexican food 2/4/2005

I had a simple burrito, which I would guess is the burger of Mexican food (if they can't do that then.....?). My meal was completely tasteless, no heat, spice nothing. It did not even look visually appealing when I cut into it. The burrito appears to be just watery ground beef cooked and wrapped in a tortilla shell. I took one bite of the burrito and some of the refried beans which were equally tasteless and that was enough for me. We were not even asked how we liked the food or how we were doing until we were ready to leave. When told that the food was a big disappointment they did not offer any solution or even bother to apologize. I guess they conduct a business were they are correct and the customer does not matter. Pros: You get a lot of food Cons: The food is not worth more

Faux Mexican food? 2/4/2005

Where to start...the margaritas were too sweet and indicative of a cheap margarita mix. The hot salsa was hot, but lacked flavor. The mild salsa had the appearance and falvor of canned tomato sauce(ok, so they added salt!). The Seafood Enchiladas were made of fake crabmeat and tasted disgusting. The beef enchiladas lacked flavor. The service was mediocre at best. The flautas were ok at best. We did not bother to eat much, if any of our food. Although we were told that the chefs spoke no English, I am convinced that they probably don't speak Spanish either. This was a total waste of time and money. Pros: Easy to find Cons: Food, Service more
