Awesome Theater! 1/17/2006

Being at the El Capitan felt (for understandable reasons) just like being at Disneyland! I went and, because of crowding, sat in the upper levels (it's opera-style seating). The gold gilded walls and ceiling, thick red drapes, and live organ player (he played Disney classics, like "When you Wish Upon a Star") were all lavish and festive touches. The sound and picture were fantastic! Overall, a wonderful experience for any movie that is special to a little someone in your life. more

For Disney's Movie Lovers 12/29/2005

Pro: - There will be an exhibition underground for the feature Disney related/distributed movies. - The seat is comfortable. - We can reserve the ticket in advance - The screen and sound are very good. I have been to some theater where the screen is scratch and the sound keeps skipping. Con: - The ticket is more expensive than other theater. - Although you can reserve advanced ticket, you have to get there early to get the good seat. - There is no free or cheap parking. Overall: I give it 3 stars since I don't go there very often, only when there is a good Disney distributed movie. The last movie I saw there was "Howl's Moving Castle" which is a very good movie ^_^ more

Charming. 12/7/2005

The El Capitan Theatre is beautifully restored. I went to see the Jimmy Kimmel Show there and they hand out tickets in front of the theatre. You have to wait for an hour and the gaurds search your pockets and purse. But inside it looks like an old classic theater with a stage set inside a big room. The traffic in the area is murder but the area is really cool. The theatre is located right across from Grauman's Chinese, the Kodak Theatre and the Roosevelt Hotel. So there is plenty to do in the area if you don't like the theatre. But don't worry. You will. more

Real Hollywood 8/19/2005

This is a cool theater, it definitely makes you feel like you're in Hollywood, sightseeing LA. It's a place you've gotta go at least once if you're in LA, and it's right across the street from the Grauman Chinese theater, so you can visit all the little tourist shops and see the footprints and handprints of the stars. Traffic and parking are really bad in that area though. The theater itself is really nice on the inside. It had a little area set up as a mini-museum when I went. The seating area has a balcony and a curtain over the screen and everything is decorated very nicely. I recommend going here at least once to check it out! more

Disney movie theatre. 8/17/2005

This movie theater showcases new Disney movies but they usually have some kind of event associated with it. Events can range from having a movie and then meeting the characters by people in costumes. Prices are not too expensive either, considering what you're getting and paying for. It's a good night out, especially if you have children. more

Disnified Hollywood 8/16/2005

This is a fun alternative to Grauman's Chinese if you have kids. This Silver Screen movie palace was bought by Disney and now shows only Disney movies. In addition to the movie, the ticket price includes interactive exhibits and shows after the show in a giant complex behind the theatre. I went to see The Haunted Mansion there and was very impressed by the shows that came afterward (better than the movie!) more
