I was visiting the Toledo area when my parakeet fell ill. It was after 5pm and we needed an avian vet. This was the only place we could find. The bottom line is the clinic did tests and treatements I did not authorize, and they advised hospitalization and started additional unauthorized treatments when they knew she wasn't going to make it. They told me to hosiptalize her for at least 2 hours, but my gut told me to go back and ask more questions. I was charged for 4 hours of hosptialization when we at most used 2 (and a good 30-45 minutes of that was waiting on the vet to come and talk to me) and charged for tests and treatments I never okayed. They should have told me she was not going to make it through the night initially. They should have told me she was suffereing, but instead they lied to make more money. I had at least $100 in charges that never should have happened, and my Chloe suffered longer than she needed to. How unethical is that? I know you may not have a choice in an emergency, but be cautious and ask the hard questions or they may take advantage of you.
Pros: Open 24 hours
Cons: Do treatments without authorization, are not totally honest
