Editorial review from Citysearch 9/18/2012

If you need a Psychiatrist you should definitely go to EHP and request Dr. Cannito, she is excellent! She is also great with children! I give HER five stars (She's at the White Marsh location-Sand Piper dr) more

Unorganized & Unprofessional 11/28/2011

I have not been to N. Calvert Street, Only the Sandpiper Circle location but This is the worst ""Doctor"" Office I have ever been to. If I could give them a rating of Negative 5 stars I would... Unorganized & Unprofessional. Doctor C can't seem to keep appointments! He Canceled 3 appointments in 2 weeks. The office staff act as though they should be patients. They screw up people's appointments. They use foul language to each other while people are sitting in the waiting room. No one returns calls. I agree 110% with the review by Michela! If you need any help, DO NOT go there! more

Do not waste your time or money 8/15/2011

This practice is dreadful. They are incompetent and unable to offer anything of substance to people often in desperate need of help. The so called specialists are little better than hacks, their interest in their patients is almost none existent. And the way that the office is run only adds to the general state of chaos that afflicts EHP. If you are in need of therapy find somewhere else to go since a trip to EHP wil not solve any of your problems and will only serve to frustrate you. more

My experience = not good 1/7/2010

I rarely post reviews except for when I am really mad (and then I usually post a good review about something else that I liked, for karma). Anyway, I think VanHelsing was super insightful in his description of Dr. Robert Cumming. Arrogant ass. After 5 minutes he decided he didn't want to help me and waved me off with a flick of his hand. He told me I needed to see Dr. Russel Hibler. Over 5 sessions, Dr. Hibler... well, he did nothing. It seemed like he was just trying to collect money from my insurance co. He didn't listen to a thing I said and kept trying to peg me as some archetype from his psychology textbook. He asked me the same EXACT questions on session 2 as he asked on session 1. For session 3 he had me take 2+ hours of tests. On my next appointment, we were supposed to go over the results, but after several minutes of digging around and a shuffling of papers, he determined that they weren't back yet- it had been several weeks! He then proceeded to ask me the same questions he asked on sessions 1 and 2! On session 4 he had the results and read to me, word-for-word, paragraphs that some computer had spit out about my personality. The information he was reading seemed really odd and completely irrelevant- I asked him if he was sure he had the right test results - he pointed at his print out and said ""well this is your social security number, isn't it?"" It wasn't. I think he had the wrong results. People like this give psychiatry a bad name. Pros: Administrative staff was friendly enough Cons: The doctors more

A little common sense 6/17/2009

After reading the reviews, I thought I should bring some clarity to the discussion. First of, Psychiatrists are NOT Psychologists - the only interest they have on you is your chemical imbalances, and how this affects your ability to live a normal life, and of course, make sure you're not a danger to others and yourself..THAT'S IT. They didn't go to school to help you resolve your life's dilemmas or hear you telling them for one entire hour why you hate your parents - that's why Psychologists exist, this is their job. If you're expecting a Psychiatrist to be fuzzy and warm, you're in for a big disappointment. They're extremely analytical, that's what their line of work requires. I never met the Doctor mentioned above, but my husband sees Dr. C, and I see Dr. Jarrel. and we're both very happy with our choices. Dr. Jarrel is an excellent Doctor, has followed my tx closely, adjusted medications, and she's right on the money 100% of the time. I owe her my mental sanity. As for Dr. C, my husband is pretty happy with him, as well. The staff at White Marsh has always been great, polite, and their billing people are awesome. I had a problem w/ my insurance and they took care of everything for me. I'm glad for EHP, I love them. more

My Husband is Mean- but the Price is Right! 2/19/2009

This place is great! My hubby is always so mean to me. All I had to do was call EH and P, and they immediately upped his dosage. I'd recommend this place to anyone who has a misbehaving spouse. If you need medication in a hurry, call EH and P. It's certainly worth every cent! Pros: Low price. Cons: Helicopters on roof. more

Need an alternative 2/15/2008

I don't know how to contact you Van Helsing but I could use your advice. I read your review on EHP seconds before I was going to call them. I am currently at Total Health Care and I don't like it. Where are you going now? Do you like it better? more

Not Much Competition- They're One of the Only Games in Town 2/14/2008

When I was getting out of the hospital, I was placed with EHP (Everly, Hildreth & Platman) by my social worker. I wasn't given a choice. I saw a psychiatrist for meds and a psychologist for therapy. The way it works these days, psychiatrists are too busy to write prescriptions AND do therapy, which is a bad setup to begin with. So psychiatrists are rushed and do a rush job- they've been reduced to pill pushers and nothing more. It's a sorry state of affairs. My psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Cummings, was tyrannical and imperious. He brooks no dissent in his fiefdom. He (more than once) let on that he is looking forward to retiring to Florida, and you can tell that he'd rather be somewhere else. My psychologist was distant but gamely tried to be empathetic. My psychologist revealed that she had been pressured to shave time off how long she saw each patient, so that she could squeeze in more patients per day and thus make more money for EHP. My psychologist admitted that there were problems at EHP but was scared of losing her job if she complained about it. It's about ""The Benjamins"" at EHP! The office space is cramped, claustrophobia-inducing, and uninviting. The billing was a nightmare- the billing is done by another outfit called ""Psychbill"". They provided me with the most confusing bills I've ever seen. No business could operate like EHP if they had any significant competition, but EHP doesn't seem to. I've finally managed to find another provider, and am glad to be quit of EHP. more
